I'm still keeping on in Austin, Tx. My husband Dick is still dealing with health challenges. He's slowed down, but basically doing fine--likes being a home-body. He's retired, a great homemaker, and drives kids to their afterschool care a few days a week.
Our daughter Marta's completed her PhD at Indiana Univ in Bloomington. She's in Biology/Ecology & Evolution/"disease ecology," following in the footsteps of my dear Dad, who passed away March 2015. She doing a post-doc at UCLA, applying for a faculty position this fall. She married Chris Roberts in Austin April 2019--really a fun wedding, in her friends' back yard. The weekend before, they had a campout with friends from all over the US.
Our son Louis is a CPA accountant in Houston. It's nice to be able to see him every couple months. He still enjoys sports in many forms, exploring yoga now. He's interested in politics, and volunteered his apartment as a pop-up office in a political campaign last year.
Last time I was in Oxford, I really enjoyed taking my family to see it for the first time. I showed them the town, my old neighborhoods, Houston Woods, and the countryside. It was great seeing a lot of y'all and reconnecting with childhood friends. Judy Smith and I are still friends here in Austin. I see my brother Bob, sister Mary, and their families in Boston. This includes Paul (Mary's husband), Peter, and Gene Harris from Oxford and their families. I also get together with Nancy Bein when I'm there. My brother's daughter Laura is in Austin now--got a UT grad degree in kinesiology and is a rowing coach. It's been great having her here and spending time together. Laura lives in Whitehall Coop, where I lived in the early 80's and met my husband! Fall of 2020 my nephew Mark Harris moved to Austin, working with the local Signify Health group. More family fun!
It's interesting how one feels like one's same ole self in many ways, but looking around at the last reunion, we appeared to me more similar to our "parents" than "us!" I don't mean to be rude--it's more just amazing and amusing to me. I think it's partly because I moved away from Oxford and missed out on the continuity of life with the same people--childhood stages, teens, young adulthood, work, secondary family, etc. And now many of us are grandparents (not me)!
I'm grateful for a generally fine life. You know, "what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger." I try to process things and keep a positive direction. I look forward to seeing y'all at our 50th Reunion!

I actually moved to San Diego at 13, before I was able to go to Talawanda, but still remember having fun at basketball games there and sock hops, occasional football games.
