In 2006 I retired from the Monterey Fire Department after a fire service career of 32 years. I then accepted a position with the University of California Santa Cruz Fire Department as the assistant fire chief and campus fire marshal, starting in the summer of 2007. My position now is Campus Fire Marshal under a new Division - Office of Emergency Services- Will retire again in 2017..I think....

I did retire again, but now working as a consultant with CSG Consultants as a Fire Services Supervisor

One person that I miss the most is Mr. Chamberlain and now Mr. Resch. They really taught me something that I realized later in life; that was discipline. Be it through Sports, Science or Life.

I also appreciated Ruth Johnson; attendance Clerk. She always accepted my forged notes excusing my many absences.
