Larry Radcliffe

Attended Kent State University, joined the US Navy the day I was drafted, served 24 years retiring as a Command Master Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy I was employed as a Human Resource consultant. After 4 years of consulting I retired permanently...To fill my time I worked as a Rural Mail Carrier on the Salt River Indian Reservation and then spent a summer driving 18 wheel tractor/trailers all across the US and southern Canada. We travel a lot, had a 32 ft 5th wheel we pulled all across the US, spent a few months in Southeast Asia spending most of our time in Singapore and Thailand, and have made three trips to Spain and Italy (Sicily). While in The Navy I had permanent stations in Texas (2 yrs), Cuba(1 Yr), Guam 3 yrs, Sicily (3 yrs), Illinois (4 yrs), Diego Garcia (1 yr), Spain (3 yrs), Hawaii (3 yrs), and Guam (2 yrs).

Architectural studies at Kent did not work out well as I got off to the wrong start with the Dean of the Architectural School...before long I received a letter from my neighbors inviting me to report to the induction center. While in the Navy I was a Meteorologist and was invited to teach meteorology and oceanography at the schools in Lakehurst, NJ, and at the Air Force schools in Illinois. Attended the Senior Enlisted Academy at the Naval War College located at Newport, RI. I received my Bachelor of Science from NYU Albany, currently known as Excelsior college. I had a dual major in Meteorology and oceanography, with minor in Sociology. The Naval war college granted Masters level credit in military sciences and International Relations.
