50th REUNION
Dear Palo Alto High School Class of 1974 -
I hope this notification finds you and your loved ones in good health and spirits.
We are excited to announce that our 50th high school reunion is scheduled for August 9-11, 2024. Details are still being worked out.
We are in the early stages of coordinating this event and will need your help in our outreach efforts to gather valid email addresses of our classmates. It has been a long time since we last connected, and many have geographically dispersed pursuing different paths. Email and Facebook appear to be the most prevalent methods for keeping in touch, and almost everyone has an email address and/or a Facebook account. We are creating a Google Contacts database with first/last/married names and current email addresses. With your help, we can widely communicate details of the reunion via email and Facebook (link below) as soon as they become available.
We intend to communicate details via two and possibly a third method:
- Email – We will use only Bcc (blind carbon copy) versus Cc (carbon copy) to not infringe on anyone’s desire to keep their email address private.
- Facebook - We will post on Facebook at Palo Alto HS ‘73, ‘74, ‘75, ‘76, and ‘77 Alumni since people will likely check in on that platform as well.
- The Paly Alumni Site - This method is up in the air since we don’t know how to use the Class Creator CMS to set it up. Perhaps a class member can volunteer. The previous reunion site is located at https://www.classcreator.com/Palo-Alto-California-1974/class_classmates_missing.cfm
Sadly, we acknowledge the loss of some of our esteemed classmates over the years. We want to extend an invitation to the reunion not only to our fellow alumni, but also to their widows, widowers, or partners, should they desire to attend.
To secure the venues for the event, we must provide the requisite deposits. To that end, we are seeking a current resident of Palo Alto who is willing to undertake the responsibility of collecting the necessary payments. We kindly request that anyone able to fulfill this role reach out to Dennis at their earliest convenience and then we can get started collecting necessary funds.
I assume that most will be retired, or almost retired by now. And the ability to attend may be difficult. Perhaps there is a way to live-stream and if anyone can coordinate/arrange that, please let us know.
If you haven't already, please reply to this email letting us know that we have the correct email for you and any updated name changes since graduation. We will then know for whom we don’t have an email and will send out a subsequent email listing classmates with missing emails.
