The following information is from the Panhandle Herald obituary.  Information of Jimmie's passing was supplied by Nancy Crites.

Jimmie Ray Dalton, 69, died Aug. 26, 2013 in Aransas Pass.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at White Deer Cemetery with Chris Steward, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Jim was born on Nov. 17, 1943 in Shamrock to Raymond and Nola Dalton. He attended schools in Skellytown and Pampa, graduating in 1962. Jim attended Frank Phillips College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree, and then attended West Texas College.

Jim married Dianne Thomas on June 11, 1965 in Skellytown. Jim worked for Cabot Corporation, Scarab Manufacturing and Panhandle Industrial, retiring in 2000. He then worked for the City of White Deer until 2001 when they moved to Port Aransas. Jim and Dianne were R.V. park hosts for three years. Jim also worked part-time for the University of Texas Marine Science as a security guard and for their Elderhostel program providing birding tours and turtle patrol. The couple moved to Aransas Pass in 2004 where they volunteered for Timmons Homeless Shelter and Salvation Army’s “Surviving the Night” program. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, and a brother-in-law.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Dalton of the home, two aunts, extended family, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 415 W. 8th Ave., Suite 300, Amarillo, Texas 79101, a Hospice facility of your choice, or Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, 3505 Olsen, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
