From his obituary in the Pampa Daily News, Oct 30, 1974:

Funeral Services for Richard Hopkins, 30, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Pampa, were held at the Rhoten-Weiland Merritt Funeral Home in Carrolton. Mr. Hopkins died October 27 in Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He was born Oct 29, 1943 in Pampa. He had served in the U.S. Navy several years, and for the past four years he had been stationed in Honolulu. Survivors include the widow, a son, a daughter, his mother, two brothers, and two sisters.
