Martha Lou died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 in Pampa. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1992, moving from Fort Collins, CO. She was a schoolteacher and a member of Bible Church of Pampa.

Survivors included a son, Brett Schakel of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Shannon Ullman of Golden, CO, and Brandy Schakel of Fort Collins, CO; her father, Dr. Frank Kelley of Fredrickburg (since deceased); a brother, Frank Kelley Jr. of Houston; two sisters, Mary Ann Wyss of Fredricksburg and Patsy Smith of Mancos, CO; and a grandson.
