Linda Joyce Howe, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. Born in Pampa, Texas, to TJ and Billie Vickery. Linda lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community. She is survived by her loving children, Heath Howe and Heather Howe, her son in law Randy VanHoose, her cherished grandchildren Sophie, Hunter, and Hayes Howe, and her dedicated sister Jodie Forsyth. She had great friendships spanning 30+ years and valued those invaluable relationships.
Linda graduated from Pampa High School and pursued higher education at the University of North Texas. She had a lifelong love of travel, venturing to places as far and wide as England, France, Ireland, South Africa, Israel, Norway, Spain, Germany, Hawaii, and Scandinavia. She also loved playing golf and treasured the moments spent with her family.
A trailblazer in her field, Linda started her own businesses and served as Vice President of Recruiting for 20 + years. Her leadership and mentorship touched the lives of those she encountered in her personal and professional lives. Linda's strength and independence were an inspiration to many, breaking barriers for women in business while always being available to provide balanced and straightforward guidance to all that sought her counsel.
Most recently, she founded an international recruiting company focused on bringing nurses from the Philippines to the United States. She took great pride in helping them and their families realize their dreams of starting new lives and careers.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was an active member of the Cathedral of the Ascension church, where she participated in Cursillo, other faith-based activities and built great friendships.
Thank you to all those that impacted her life throughout the years. She was an amazing and fabulous woman. To honor her, a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM CST at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, with a Celebration of Life to follow from 11:00-1:00 PM CST at the Fleming Center (attached to the church).
Linda will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, leadership, and faith will live on through her family, friends and the many lives she impacted
