Bobby was my husband's younger brother.  He was always so kind to me after Mike was drafted into the Army.  Bobby took me to our Senior Prom since I was engaged to Mike and couldn't go otherwise.  He was my friend and became my brother.

I knew Bobby in little league. He was the most amazing catcher! He was this skinny kid, behind that plate the was fearless and caught everything. I got to have a nice chat with Bobby at the 20 year reunion. He had lost a leg, below the knee in Viet Nam. He told me that he could have played in the pros, and I kidded him that he didn't hit well enough. Thank you for your service, Bobby. Gone too soon.

Bobbie lived in the next block on Frost. We used to try to roller skate in tandem down his driveway and turn on the sidewalk. We always kept running into that stupid tree someone put there. We would try and try. That tree got us every time. After we were hurting so bad we would quit. This was junior high. We seemed to go our separate ways in high school. I always liked him. We were brothers in an uncommon war.
