Alvin Dane Johnson

Alvin Dane Johnson, 71, of Pampa passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Kurt Foster officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. 

Mr. Johnson was born November 27, 1947 in Pampa to Lee Roy and Catherine Johnson.  Alvin was a 1966 graduate of Pampa High School, after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy.  He served faithfully for 24 years, retiring as a Master Chief in 1990.  After his retirement with the Navy, he began his career with the Pampa Police Department.  Alvin retired in 2007 after working 17 years.  He married Roberta “Bobbi” Bennett on December 30, 1968 and was about to share their 50th wedding anniversary.  Alvin enjoyed going camping, hunting, doing leather work, and would spend hours building knives from scratch.  He was a life member of VFW Post #1657 and life member of NRA.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbi of the home; son, Donald Johnson of Pampa; granddaughter, Shaina Johnson of Moncks Corner, SC; great granddaughter, Ariel Johnson of Moncks Corner, SC; three brothers, Leonard Johnson of Monte Vista, Colorado, Wayne Johnson and wife Helen of DeSoto, and Sam Johnson and wife Cynthia of Tucson, AZ.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Emmett Lee Johnson.
