Born on October 21, 1947, in Pampa, Texas, to James Wyatt Lemons and Velma Maxine (Parker) Lemons, Kenneth was a man of many talents. A gifted musician, he could easily pick up melodies on his baby grand piano and even composed original works. Kenneth felt most at home on a sailboat, exploring the Caribbean Sea, and the coasts of Texas, California, and Florida, along with many local lakes.
Kenneth graduated from Pampa High School in 1966, where he was active in the Key Club and the Pride of Pampa High School Marching Band. He played the cornet and served as the band president in his senior year, with one of his greatest thrills being performing with renowned jazz trumpeter Doc Severinsen. He then attended North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas), earning a bachelor's degree in finance.
After college, Kenneth worked in the bond department of Texas Bank & Trust in Dallas, Texas. A couple of years later, he moved back to Pampa with his young family to pursue opportunities in the oil and gas industry with his father, Wyatt. He proved to be an astute and resourceful entrepreneur and business owner, operating and investing in a variety of successful businesses across diverse industries. In 1997, Kenneth moved with his growing family to the Austin area, later settling in Lakeway, Texas, where he was happiest being close to water.
Kenneth will be remembered for his kind and friendly nature, his optimism, and his sense of humor. He was a loving and engaged husband and father, drawing great joy from the time spent with his many grandchildren. Friends remember Kenneth for his adventurous spirit and the many little things he did to make a difference in both good times and bad. He will be greatly missed by all.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Christine Lemons of Lakeway, Texas; son Jason Lemons and wife Laura of Richardson, Texas; daughter Jessica Reynolds and husband Kevin of Spicewood, Texas; stepdaughter Alanna Garcia of Austin, Texas; and many beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wyatt Lemons and Velma Maxine Lemons; brother Jerry Wayne Lemons; son Jeffrey Wyatt Lemons; and stepson Michael Garcia.

Kenneth Wyatt Lemons, 76, of Lakeway, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2024, leaving friends and family in deep sorrow.

They say a picture is worth a million words, a picture shows it all. Kenneth's posted picture, lays bare the beautiful life he lived. His kind smile was often followed by words exposing his personality of warmth, caring, understanding, encouragement, wisdom, and sincere interest in his friends well being. Kenneth was my 'around the corner' friend, we weren't always together or even nearby, but whenever we rejoined, it was as if we never were apart. We always picked right up where we left off. Kenneth navigated this world like a big wave moves around the ocean. Lifting up life to a penicale, surfing the waive crest, speeding down the slope to inner a tunnel of brilliant light, hearing the sound of water nearing the shore. Kenneth was an overcomer, he chose to stay cheerful, cast out the doubt of diagnoses, looking for cures, and making life a victory. Am I sad to lose my friend, Kenneth, he is not gone, his spirit lives. Rest in the arms of a God who has received his Servant, Ken.

My husband John and I knew Kenneth well in Pampa. Our second year at North Texas in Denton, we were reconnected with Kenneth. I've always enjoyed our friendship and loved hearing him play the piano. Kenneth was a very talented and kind man. My parents were good friends of his parents; it is easy to see that Wyatt and Velma were great role models and he learned a great deal from them. Farewell, not goodbye, my friend.
