Larry Duane McMillan, 65, died Oct. 29, 2013 in Amarillo.

The funeral service was held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Victory Church with Pastor Don Weemes officiating.

Burial was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Pampa

Larry was born on Dec. 30, 1947 in Pampa to C.O. “Mc” and Eunice McMillan. He was an Eagle Scout and was honorably awarded the God and country award. Larry graduated from Pampa High School in 1966 before attending West Texas A&M where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Larry worked as a banker at Texas American Bank for close to 15 years. He then taught grade school at several Amarillo grade schools. He then began his employment at AT&T where he worked as a repairman until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed playing the guitar as well as hot rod cars, specifically corvettes. Most importantly, Larry was a devoted family man. He was known to be extremely intelligent, patient and compassionate. He was a wonderful daddy who unconditionally loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. They will always remember how he loved to dance and shared many of those dances with them. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will always cherish their “papa la-la.”

Mr. McMillan is survived wife, Dana McMillan of Amarillo; mother, Eunice McMillan of Pampa; four sons, Kelly Thrasher of Amarillo, Brian McMillan and wife Debbie of Amarillo, Charles Thrasher and wife Misty of Amarillo and Keith McMillan and wife Becky of Holcomb, Kan.; daughter, Kim Lynch and husband Robert of Ardmore, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, C.O. “Mc” McMillan in May 2003.
