I knew Donnie Kidd since grade school. He lived right down the street. Me and him and Phil Richmond did a lot of stuff together. Lots of camping out and hiking with BB guns and later 22 rifles. He and Phil stayed friends and fished etc. Donnie married Sheila Stuart before he graduated from high school. Early in the marriage, she was killed in a car wreck. I was home that summer, and Donnie so appreciated that I went to the funeral. They had a son that later became a Pampa policeman. Donnie later on went back to high school in Pampa. Donnie's dad was a greeter at the First Christian Church for years and my mother knew him from there. Last I heard, Donnie's mother still lived in the same house in Prairie Village.

P.S. Get Phil to tell you the story about him and Donnie hitch hiking to Oklahoma City. Phil wanted to see the actual building where they broadcasted KOMA from.
