Ann Robinson (Hackney)

Ann Robinson (Hackney)

Mrs. Ann Lavell Hackney, daughter of the late Bob Robinson and Janet Lavell Robinson, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 15th, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born on May 21st, 1944, the daughter of an American serviceman and an English war bride. Ann graduated from Paoli High School, a member of the class of 1962. She was united in marriage to David Hackney on June 14, 1963 in Paoli, Indiana, celebrating 57 years of marriage.

Ann and David shared the work on the family farm throughout their marriage, working together on a daily basis. She was also dedicated to serving the Lord at Syria Christian Church and Mt. Tabor Christian Church, serving as a longtime Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and visitor of shut-ins, new members, nursing home residents, and anyone else she felt had such a need. She had the gift of hospitality, opening her home and sharing meals or other gifts with church and neighborhood friends and acquaintances.
She is survived by her spouse, David, children, Douglas (Heather) Hackney, Rene (Clark) Love, 5 beloved grandchildren, Eric Hackney, Kelly (Tyler) Zink, Seth Hackney, Tyler (Jaclyn) Love, and Logan Love and Jaylin Busick. She is also survived by 3 cherished great-grandchildren, Noah and Isla Zink, and Ellie Love.
Ann also leaves behind her two brothers, Roger (Mary Elaine) Robinson, David (Mary Jo) Robinson, her two sisters, Helen (Mark) Begarly, Susan (Kevin (Fry), a sister-in-law, Martha (Terry) Rutherford, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Beth Rhodes, Lisa Beasley, Chastity Mitchell, Naomi Halbert, and Jennifer Fields, ViaQuest Hospice, whose help, care, and love for Ann were invaluable.
Ochs Tetrick is entrusted with her care and a visitation will be held at Mt. Tabor Christian Church from 2 pm until 6 pm on Sunday, October 18th, and again on Monday, October 19th, at 10 am, until time of service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in Ann's name to the Choices Life Resource Center, Salem, Indiana, Eden's Children Village and/or Zimbabwe Outreach Ministry, or a food bank of the donor's choice.
