Chuck was a good friend and fellow wrestler in h.s. ... the only wrestler I ever knew who could effectively use a bear hug as an offensive weapon.    A good athlete and a solid friend.    He served in the Marines and I'd lost track of him until the l980's when he and Sue and the kids moved to Houston.    He married his h.s. sweetheart (Sue) and was a devoted husband and father.   He was an engineer as I recall.  They later moved to Dallas and he died of cancer up there in the late l980s or early '90's, and the disease  progressed very quickly according to Sue and he was gone before I even knew he was ill.    He always retained his good humor and remained pretty much the same easy-going, easy to meet and be around kind of guy later in life that he'd been in h.s.     In a word, Chuck was:   solid.

Most everyone will remember Chuck as a good athlete and fun loving guy. I will always remeber him as my first love, a loving husband, father and grandfather.

After high school he attended Willaim Jewel College for one year where he playyed footbal and wrestled.  He then enlisted in the Marines and spent the following 7 years in the Corps.

He became spcialized in electron beam welding and welding vacumn systems both as an engineer and in sales.  He also loved woodworking and home renovation.

He fought the fight against cancer with his happy disposition and  determination.  He passed away on October 23, 2001 after a six month battle with lung cancer.
