Brad Van Roekel

Taught and coached for 14 years in the Kern High School School District. I have been teaching for the past 2 years at Taft Union High School in Taft, CA (just outside of Bakersfield). At TUHS I teach 3 periods of social science and 3 periods of Special Education. I am an assistant coach to the freshmen football team and for the 1st time ever, the freshmen softball team.

Went to the University of St. Thomas, 88-89.
Went to the University of North Dakota, 89-90.
Married Lisa Josephson on June 16, 1990.
Went to St. Cloud State University 90-93 and began teaching in Bakersfield in 1993.

Reading, coaching, going to the kid's activities (baseball for Jackson & John, cheer and dance for Madison). We like to travel, take trips to the beach and go camping. Cheer for the Vikes & Twins of course. For the past 3 football seasons, I've been a side-line reporter on the local radio station for our junior college football team, the Bakersfield College Renegades. That has been a lot of fun, getting to see A LOT of football up close (it's a little faster than the freshmen game I coach).
