Dr. Barbara Sapienza

Dr. Barbara Ann Sapienza, of Saddle River, New Jersey, wife of the late Charles Sapienza, passed away after complications related to knee surgery. Dr. Sapienza died on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Hackensack University Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Manhattan, Dr. Sapienza was raised in Park Ridge, New Jersey and graduated from Park Ridge High School. She was awarded advanced degrees in education from Trenton State College, Montclair University and received a PhD in Educational Administration from Rutgers University. Dr. Sapienza was employed by the Pascack Valley Regional High School in Hillsdale, New Jersey, for the past thirty years, 14 as Principal. Dr. Sapienza's high energy and her unfaltering commitment to the Pascack Valley students and staff made her an extraordinary leader, principal, friend, colleague and master educator. Her legacy will be the generations of families that she touched as she performed her life's work with elegance, grace and a belief in the power of education.
