Kiwanna, will be gratefully missed

She was the most down to earth person you could have meet. If she like you she like you, if she didn't she told you. she stood like a tower but had a heart of a teddy bear. I will miss her

I pray strength for her daughters and family.

I wanted to stop through to express my condolences to the McCaskill family.

The last time I talked to Kiwanna (or "Kuna", as I affectionately called her), I was visiting town and ran into her while downtown Paterson. I could see that she was not doing well.

During our discussion she ran down her medical issues, and what the prognosis was and etc... It's all interesting to me now becasue the one thing I clearly recall was how positive she was about it. How strong she was in her commitment to "being". No indication of fear, not a worry was mentioned. In fact, we began building on just how good God is, and the fact that she was still smiling, still living, still breathing, and still being <"The devil is a liar", were her exact words>.

When we finihsed building, we exchanged numbers, hugged and wished each other well. I was sad to hear about her passing...but she was a soldier who kept stomping all the way to the end.

THAT is the visual, THAT is the memory that will dominate my thoughts whenever I think of her. I have tons of memories of Kuna - but a strong, faith-filled finish is the best.

Truly.

...love you Kuna (my fellow Class Chatterbox)
