I met my husband Terry at Texas A&M, he was on the Aggie Soccer team and the Diving Team and I majored in Architecture. Our family lived in Katy, TX for a few years, then moved to Long Beach, then Garden Grove, CA for 6 years. I was a stay-at-home mom and volunteered at school and church. I taught kindergarten in California. We moved to Clear Lake City in 1998 and all three of our kids graduated from CLHS. We were involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, Lacrosse, soccer, band, JROTC, NHS. I became a registered Architect in 2004 and worked for Gensler for 6 years. Both of our sons graduated from Texas A&M and our daughter graduated from the United States Air Force Academy, then earned a Masters degree from MIT. We have raised a couple of liters of German Shepard puppies, now own two Chihuahuas.
Having my father, Bill White, the science teacher at my high school was both a joy and a challenge! The other teachers told Dad everything about me. I couldn't get away with anything! Dad's students complained to me about pop quizzes, homework or something embarrassing Dad would say to them. My dad was at all the football games, basketball games and dances. I love to dance, so I would go to the opposite side of the cafeteria and hope someone would ask me to dance. If I forgot my lunch money, I would go to his classroom to beg for money and he would ask me if I had a Hall Pass. After school I had to sit in the smoke filled Teacher's Lounge for what seemed like hours waiting for a ride home. I was finally given the use of the family car, a bright yellow 1971 Volkswagen, Karman Ghia, which I have restored and still own to this day!
