Tommy Vines

After I graduated I worked for the Moore Ranch and enjoyed a year at Sul Ross State Univerisity partying with my suite mate Jay Fowlkes. I then worked for the 101 Ranch, 06 Ranch and the Parker Ranch in Alpine Texas. I enjoyed showing in the Ranch Cutting Competitions while living in Alpine, I won the yearend championship in 1997 and 1998. In 1998 I moved to Casper Wyoming and worked on a Arabian Horse Ranch training reining and cutting horses. My wife and I bought a place in Casper, but moved to South Dakota to help on the family Ranch. Since in South Dakota we had two little girls that keep us busy attending play days with their horses. In 2003 I raced my grand National at the Sturgis Dragstrip, then in 2004 I bought my dream car a 1968 Camaro. I raced at the Sturgis Dragstrip until 2006 and I started racing at the Oahespeedway. In 2007 I won 2nd in the yearlong points, and represented the track at the Division 5 finals. This year I built a 1974 Nova, that my wife races. I keep busy hunting, car racing, competing in Ranch Rodeos, and running the girls around. I also keep busy in the winter when I can not play building bits and spurs and silver work. Some may think I am crazy but in the cold of winter I compete in coyote calling contests with a neighbor. I spent the summer road racing with a friend.
