I received word this morning of the passing of John Hull.  He was a wonderful person and I am sure he will be miss dearly.  Rest in Peace.

Obituary for Mr. John Henry Hull, Sr.

John Henry Hull, Sr., age 61 of Greensboro passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. John was born July 25, 1951 in Philomath, GA to the late J.L. and Mary Hunter Hull. He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1969. He continued his education earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Computer Technology and a minor in Justice and Policy Studies from Guilford College; He graduated with honors. He was completing a Master of Science Degree in Gerontology at Kansas State University; his degree has been confered posthumously. 
 
Mr. Hull began his career as a computer analyst at Reader's Digest in Chappaqua, NY. John moved to North Carolina over 34 years ago accepting a job with Integon/GMAC where he worked as a Security Analyst for over 25 years. He fulfilled his professional dream of being a consultant when he joined AIG security team as a Senior IT Security Analyst. 
 
John was an active member of the East Market Street Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as church treasurer; basketball commissioner; president of the Golden Age Society; member of the men's basketball team; on the deacon board; as a member of the Chancellor and Men's Choir; and served as a Sabbath School Teacher. 
 
John was a competitive bowler and enjoyed basketball. He loved playing basketball with his grandsons and attended all their sporting events. John was a medalist in the Senior Games of North Carolina.
 
John loved the arts and music. His love of music began with singing in church with his sisters and he continued to share his musical talents with others by participating in cantatas with churches throughout the city and state. He was an avid photographer and volunteered to take pictures at church, work, and family events. John loved family and enjoyed taking pictures of them, especially his grandchildren. 
 
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Kadis Hingleton-Hull; six children - Gerard Curtis,
Chena Farmer, Kineka Hull, Erika King (Darren), Lakisha Hull, and John Hull, Jr.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters - Jacquette Hull-Bottoms (Rev. Jesse), Gwendolyn Hull-Undly (Conway, Deceased), and Clarissa Hull-Goins (Howard); as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. 
 
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2013 at The Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa Street Greensboro, NC 27406. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
 
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
