James M. Knapp, a former Peekskill resident, died December 8, 1999 at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was 51. He was born in Peekskill on October 23, 1948. He was a retired laborer for the IBL Local 235 in Elmsford. Mr. Knapp was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. In Florida he was a member of the VFW Post 15010, and also the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Morgan Kosilla of Peekskill; his wife, Linda of Hudson, FL; a daughter Michelle Christiana of Peekskill; two brothers, Scott Knapp of Peekskill and Ronald Kosilla of Wappingers Falls. There are also three step-daughters and eight grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Church of the Assumption. Cremation interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
