Dear Peekskill High School Class of 1966 Classmates:

Things are starting to come together; we have the place (Colonial Terrace), the time (October 12,2019, 7pm to 12pm.) The menu (see attached) and the list of those who have committed to attend. Did we mention that there will be a Happy Hour with hot hors d’oeuvres and open bar for that hour? There will also be wine and soda on each table as well.  Of course, there will be music throughout the evening. We are still researching the cost of a DJ and other options.

At this point in the planning stage, we estimate the cost for the evening will range between $80 and $90. This is contingent upon the number of people who attend and the associated costs such as music.

We are therefore requesting that you send a check for Ninety Dollars per person, Pay to the Order of: PHS Class 1966 Reunion. Mail it to Frank Duquette,510 West Shore Trail, Sparta, New Jersey 07871. If the overall cost is less, we will reimburse you the difference.  We need the money as soon as possible to proceed with the event.

Attire is casual, collared shirts, no jeans. Use your own discretion.

We are still working on the daytime activities which may include a picnic at the Depew Park with other classes and possibly a tour of the closed Assumption School.

PHS Class 1966  53^rd class reunion  Oct 12,2019

This will most likely be the last individual class reunion. We have been invited to participate in a joint multi-class reunion in 2022. More to come later as the date draws near.

Let’s discuss this year and the event:

We have secured a venue at the Mansion at Colonial Terrace for the evening of October 12th (7-12pm).

There will be a “happy hour” with hors d’oeuvres beginning at 7pm.  Dinner will feature a hot buffet with several choices. Wine and soda will be placed on all tables and dessert and coffee will also be included. Music will be provided for your listening and dancing pleasure.

As of this writing, 41 people have committed to attend. We are hopeful that several more individuals will now plan to come. We encourage you to invite friends and family, the more the merrier. We just want to provide one more opportunity for you to reconnect and reminisce with each other.

The Fifty-Third Class Reunion 

Proposed Date: 10/12/19

Just sending a quick reminder about the upcoming class reunion. A dinner/dance with a DJ is planned for Saturday night. In order to secure a venue, we will need to submit an accurate number of attendees.

We would like to have as many classmates, spouses and or friends as possible. All are welcome.

The Fifty-Third Class Reunion

We need your input to go forward with planning another reunion. A few classmates indicated at our 50th an interest to do something on a smaller scale. We were thinking of having a dinner/dance with a DJ on Saturday night. This date coincides with Peekskill High School Homecoming Weekend, where all are invited to attend a football game, and a picnic on the lake at the Depew Park. Peekskill High School Class of 1966

We didn’t want the opportunity to pass, to wish all of our classmates a Happy nd Healthy Holiday Season!

As per your feedback, we will plan another reunion in 2019, a dinner/dance venue.  We were thinking of doing this one the same weekend as the Peekskill Homecoming event (in October), with a dinner just for our class.  In this way, we could broaden our opportunity to see classmates from other graduating classes. 

Also, we hope that you continue to stay connected to your fellow classmates and if not, that you make an effort to do so in the coming new year. Let’s keep those promises to stay in touch!

Thanks for all your support and warm wishes. It was great seeing everyone and catching up on 50 years? 

78 attended the dinner; 52 attended the brunch. The boat ride was filled at 32 and the trolley ride had 24 people. We were very pleased and thank you for coming out.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion16th Email Blast 10/06/16

There is little time left to sign up and send your check for the reunion.

At this late date, please send a check payable to Peekskill High School Class Reunion to Frank Duquette,510 West Shore Trail, Sparta, New Jersey 07871.

There is still time to attend the dinner at Table 9 ($75.00) per person.  The brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club ($55.00) per person will accept reservations up until Tuesday, 10/11/16.  We must give them an exact count by the close of that day.  This means that you must send in your check immediately.  Only registered classmates will be allowed into the brunch.  You cannot pay at the door.

We now have 80 for dinner and 51 for the brunch. Both the boat ride and trolley ride are filled to capacity at 29.

Saturday is a fun filled day. We will begin with a tour at the Peekskill Museum (9-10:30am), coffee and donuts will be served. At 11:00 am the boat will take us on a cruise of the Hudson River, snacks will be served. Immediately following the trolley will meet us at the boat dock.  The trolley ride is about 30 minutes.

Dinner at Table 9 begins at 6:00 pm.  There will be drinks, dancing, photos, and plenty of “catching up” with old friends. Sunday is brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club, 11:00-2:00pm.  Hope to see you there.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion 15^th Email Blast 9/24/16

Don’t let this one pass you buy, register for your 50^th high school reunion now.  There are less than 3 weeks before the big weekend (10/13-10/16/16).

We presently have 76 paid for Table 9 and 48 paid for brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club. We are two people short of meeting our minimum of 50 for the brunch. So please consider inviting your friends and family.

Dress Code:

Dress/casual for both dinner and brunch. Collared shirts for men and no jeans. If you are not sure of what to wear, ask yourself “what would your mother tell you?”

She would probably say: comb your hair, shave, shower, brush your teeth, wear your “nice clothes”, remember to smile and most importantly have a great time.

We have received about 15 bios.  As a starting point, we have extracted bios from classcreator as a template.  If you have sent Judie a bio that will be included with the one you put in classcreator.  Remember these bios will be put into the brochure for you.

It has been a sentimental and fun filled journey for us. We have met several classmates who have helped and continue to help us prepare for Our 50^th high school reunion. We hope that you will join us in celebrating this milestone in all our lives.

We will miss our departed classmates, especially Bobby Williams, who recently passed. For the 76 plus who are coming - hoorah for you!

Peekskill High School 14^th Email Blast 9/11/16

Great news we now have 70 people paid for dinner at Table 9. Twenty- eight for the Boat and Trolley and 40 paid for brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club.

We are still in jeopardy of having to cancel the brunch as we have not met the quota of 50. We feel confident that with your help we can get 10 more people.  Please consider the following: sign up for the brunch if you haven’t and/or ask your friends and relatives to come.  We have included the menu to further entice you.

Also, please send in a short bio of 500-700 characters in a word document to mollygirl10@optonline.net. We want to include your name in the brochure we are preparing for you.

If you have any photos from your school days in Peekskill send them to the above email address.

We will have a “memorabilia table” at the dinner which will exhibit old photos, newspaper articles, athletic things, yearbooks etc. Check your attics and closets for PHS momentums to share with everyone.

Dear Classmates:

Recently we learned of the passing of yet another PHS classmate and friend, Michael Colucci.  We send our thoughts and prayers to his family.

This is another reminder of just how precious life is and how time stands for no one.  We ask you again to consider coming to your 50th high school reunion.  It is a little more than two months away. Look over the events and select at least one event.  Don’t let this pass you by. We have added another activity for Saturday morning at no extra charge. We have arranged a “meet and greet” at the Peekskill Museum,124 Union Avenue, (9am-10:30am). Coffee and donuts will be served before guests meander around this historic site looking at artifacts from the Revolutionary War and the vast collection of documents, photos and history pertaining to Peekskill. You can park in the Assumption Church parking lot and walk over to the museum.  Visit the museum, have some coffee and then head down to the Peekskill River Front Green to catch the boat ride at 11 am. We hope that you will take advantage of this event and learn about the history of our home town. The Trolley ride will commence after the boat ride.

Dear Fellow Classmates:

Can you believe that in three months we will be celebrating our 50^th high school reunion? If you are still uncertain and can’t commit, now is the time to make a decision. Let us know one way or the other.  This reunion is going to happen with or without you.  Of course we hope it is the former.

We have had several other Peekskill High School classes ask if they could attend.  The answer is YES. We have opened the reunion to all other PHS classes, and 1966 graduates from Lakeland High School, Ladycliff High School and the Peekskill Military Academy. Dear Fellow Classmates:

Reunion registrations are coming in slow and steady.  We now have:

• Twenty-six (26) people for the boat trip and trolley
• Fifty-four (54) people for the dinner at Table 9 Restaurant
• Thirty (30) people for brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club

With less than five months to go until the reunion, we still have not met our minimum requirements to reserve the venues for Table 9 or Hollowbrook.  Although the numbers have increased for all the venues, more classmates are needed to register and make a payment. 

Calling all members of the Peekskill High School Class of 1966:  your commitment, registration and payment are needed NOW!!!!

Approximately forty-three people have indicated an interest in attending.  The committee will be sending this group a separate email.  Remember you may use the easy pay method, sending a check for 1/3 of the amount to Frank Duquette, 510 West Shore Trail, Sparta, NJ.

The Planning Committee has decided to invite 1966 graduates from Lakeland High School, Ladycliff High School and Peekskill Military Academy to the Brunch at Hollowbrook Golf Club.  If you know of anyone from these schools who might be interested in attending, ask them to contact us.

We continue to make monthly visits to Peekskill to ask the local businesses to post our flyer and to consider buying space for advertisements in our PHS Reunion brochure. In our last visit to Peekskill we met with John Curran an administrator at the Peekskill Museum. We toured the museum and found many treasures and information about the history of Peekskill. We are planning a “Meet and Greet” there with coffee and donuts, on Saturday morning before the Boat and Trolley ride. We will give you more information as we work out the logistics.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion 9^th Email Blast 5/5/16

Fellow Classmates:

The good news is that more classmates have registered for the reunion.

• Twenty (20) for the boat trip
• Forty-four (44) for Table 9
• Twenty- four (24) for Brunch)

Last week Frank, Judie, and Ginny went to Peekskill to ask the local businesses to post our flyer and to consider giving us a donation to deter some of the reunion costs. We want to create a PHS 50^th Reunion booklet for everyone and include the names of business donors. Our thought is to write a small paragraph on everyone who attends the reunion. To accomplish this, we again need your help.  We are asking everyone to submit a short bio of 250-500 words describing your life since graduation. You may wish to include a photo as well. Send it to us or simply update your bio in class creator.  We will only use the bios with your permission. 

We also visited the superintendent’s office at the high school to borrow the PHS banner for our reunion. If you have any memorabilia from school or 1966, we would like to display it at the dinner. We promise to take good care of it and to return it. Call or email Rich, Frank or Judie if you have something to share.

We continue to encourage you to invite family and friends to the brunch. We need to have a minimum of 50 to prevent cancelling the event and losing our deposit. The PHS Planning Committee will continue to work for you to make this the best reunion possible.  But, you must do your part by paying for the reunion events now.  We have hired a photographer, musician and have several other goodies planned.

PEEKSKILL HIGH SCHOOL 50^TH REUNION 8^TH EMAIL BLAST 4/7/16

Fellow Classmates:

And so the reunion process continues. Since the last communication more classmates have registered for the reunion. The count is as follows:

Fifteen (15) for the boat trip; thirty-nine (39) dinner at Table 9; twenty-three (23) brunch at Hollow Brook Country Club. The Golf Outing promises to be a fun event with “best ball,” and prizes for lowest score etc.  We are looking for friends and businesses to sponsor a hole. If you know of anyone, let us know.

In keeping with the consumer method of shopping, we have set up a three- month payment plan or easy pay; where you can pay 1/3 of the total amount of the event(s) you plan to attend.  For example, if you plan to attend the dinner which is $75 per person, you would pay $25 May 1^st; $25 June 1st; and $25 on July 1^st. We ask that this payment plan be done by check only. We are trying to give everyone the opportunity to attend the reunion.

We are also encouraging people to invite family and friends to the brunch. Several people have expressed an interest in attending the main event at Table 9.  At this time, we are keeping this to PHS 1966 grads and spouses/significant others only.  If we do not get the numbers we need to prevent cancelling the dinner, we will open it up.

So you see, that is why it is important to locate and contact as many graduates as possible to give them the opportunity to attend the reunion. We have posted the names of classmates we can’t find and those who have not responded to our correspondence. The class reunion has already started. Classmates have been reconnecting via social media such as: Classmates, Facebook, Skype and in person. We have laughed, shared stories and reminisced. Many of you have also communicated that you plan to attend the reunion but have yet to register on https//www.classcreator.com/Peekskill-New-York-1966/ Class creator is our website and it is only there that you can register and pay for the event.

We are committed to find and engage every PHS 1966 graduate. We want everyone to have the opportunity to reconnect with their old classmates. If you are apprehensive and have some reservations about attending the reunion, “have no fear,” we are here to help you share in the memories and to make new ones. Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion 6^th Email Blast 2/10/16

Updates:

• The contract for brunch at the Hollow Brook Golf Club was signed.
• Rich, Frank and Judie met in Peekskill and made contact with some classmates who hadn’t responded and found info on a few partials.
• A flyer was created announcing the PHS Reunion for the “snowbirds” attending the Peekskill Day in Jupiter Florida. Jim Duquette agreed to hand deliver the flyers since he will be there.
• The Reunion was posted on WHUD under Community Events and will be announced on the radio.
• A “countdown” clock was placed on the class creator site which indicates the number of days leading to our 50^th reunion.
• New links added to class creator (Peekskill Daily Voice and Peekskill Post).
• As of 2/10/16: 12 classmates registered and paid for the boat ride and trolley ride; 17 paid for dinner at Table 9; and 12 for brunch at the Hollow Brook Golf Club.
• Frank will begin sending refund checks March 1^st for the classmates who have signed up and have paid in full for the weekend activities using our PHS class-creator website. If you want to donate your deposit/ refund instead, please email Frank and let him know your wishes.
• Note: Class creator is the Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion website (www.classcreator.com/Peekskill-New-York-1966/). It is the official site for registrations, payment and updates. You can link to other sites, but can only register on Class creator. However, if you RSVP on another site it will not register you for any events.
• April will be the six-month mark towards our reunion countdown.  It will be here before we know it.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion 5th Email Blast 1/22/16

We hope that you all had a great holiday and that as you make your new year’s resolutions, you resolve to attend the PHS 50^th Reunion Weekend Events. Many of you have indicated that you are interested in attending but have not registered on Class Creator https://www.classcreator.com/Peekskill-New-York-1966

We need your help. Simply put, money equals commitment. You can still send a $35.00 deposit until January 31, 2016.  Beginning February 1^st everyone must register and pay for the specific event(s) on Class Creator. You may register and pay for one or all events. Should you wish to attend another event you can do so later.  The point is we need a financial commitment in order to go forward. We have enough money for the down payments but will need to pay the remainder in a few months.

A lot of effort has been used in trying to locate fellow classmates. A list of classmates found but who have not responded is listed on Class Creator (Classmates Not Responding) as well as those classmates for whom we have little or no information (Our Missing Classmates). Please, if you are on either list or know of someone’s whereabouts, contact one of the committee members.  If you have been located and are receiving our emails but don’t want to attend, please let us know.  We just want to hear back from people and make sure that everyone knows about the reunion. You can see who is planning on attending on the site as well.

We are also creating a Reunion Donation Fund where classmates can contribute to:

• offset the expenses of the reunion
• make funds available for some classmates who might otherwise be unable to attend 
• honor the memory of a deceased classmate

Any amount is appreciated. Some classmates have requested us to apply their $35 deposit (credit) towards the Reunion Donation Fund. If you would like to do so, please send an email to frank_duquette@msn.com, advising him of your wishes. This of course, is strictly on a volunteer basis.

There is a Peekskill Day Celebration held each year in Carlin Park, Jupiter Florida.  This year it is scheduled for February 11^th. James Duquette is attending and has graciously volunteered to distribute a flyer regarding the PHS 50^th Reunion. Hopefully, we can reach even more classmates. Finally, send any school photos to Judie at mollygirl10@optonline.net so that we can post them on Class Creator. The ones we have received so far have been great.

Here's the latest news on our Reunion plans.  The Committee held a conference call online last Wednesday nite, and those who were present were Kathy Gillen Adams, Karl Hoffman, John Cunningham, Judie Carbone, Alan Mugmon, Frank Duquette, and myself.  We talked about signing the contract with Hollow Brook Country Club for the Sunday Brunch event and all agreed we should go ahead and sign it, which will be done in about 2 weeks from now. We also agreed to make January 31st the deadline for Weekend Deposits, after which payments for events will be accepted.  We also agreed to put out the next Email Blast in about a week from now.  We also talked about continuing to make calls to those who we have not made contact with yet, whenever and wherever possible, as well as calling those with whom we have been in touch to ask everyone to try to pay for as much of the weekend activitites as possible, which members of the Committee have been doing for some time now.  We are also planning on having another Conference Call at the beginning of March.  We feel that we have been making progress and are as up to date as we can be for now.  Our main message to our classmates at this time is to try to sign up for and pay for events for the weekend as soon as you are able.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion Update 12/22/15

We want to take the time to wish all our fellow classmates and their families a happy and joyful holiday season. We wish you good health and peace in the coming new year!

Based upon your feedback and support we have signed contracts for music, a photographer and Table 9. We have temporarily delayed the signing of a contract (for brunch) with the Hollow Brook Golf Club, until we have reached the minimum of fifty people. We need several more classmates to register for this event in Class Creator before we sign the contract. We also encourage you to reserve a hotel room (if needed). Remember to sign into www.classcreator.com/Peekskill-New-York-1966/, to create a login. Class Creator will allow you to register and pay for the event(s) you plan to attend.  Classmates that sent a deposit of $35 per person via check, will be reimbursed by check for that amount. Those paying by credit card will also be reimbursed minus the 5% surcharge.   Unfortunately, the system, Class Creator, does not allow us to apply the deposit to an event .We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion 4th Email Blast November 7, 2015

Fellow Classmates: 

A big shout out to those 24 classmates and 10 guests who have sent in their $35.00 deposit.  Because of these early responses, we are able to make the deposits required by the restaurant, music and photographer.  We have enough funds to meet our financial responsibilities until January 2016.  Many of you have indicated an interest in attending.  However, we need you to take it to the next step, to commit and send your deposit. You can do so by signing onto our website www.classcreator.com/Peekskill-New-York-1966/ click on Join Here on right side of the screen, and click on your name, and follow the instructions to create a login. Class Creator will allow you to send your deposit of $35.00 per person by two methods: By mailing a check (PHS Class 1966 Reunion) to Frank Duquette 510 West Shore Trail, Sparta NJ 07871 or by credit card. Please note that there will be a 5% convenience fee for using a credit card. Your deposit will be credited towards the events you plan to attend, DUE 12/4/15.

EVENTS:

Thursday: 10/13/16, Golf/cart at Hollow Brook Golf Club cost TBD. Build your own foursome to play. Tee times will be assigned by the Director of Golf.

Friday Night: 10/14- Pub Crawl in downtown Peekskill. Meet and Greet 7pm at Division Street Grill; Quiet Man (8pm); McDonald & Peacock Cider House (9pm); Hudson Room (10 pm); Gleason’s (11pm).  Classmates have the option to stay in one place or crawl to other places.  Cost is incurred by classmate.                                                                                           

Saturday: 10/15 Morning and afternoon Boat ride and/or Trolley Ride. Cost $15 Boat, $10 for trolley.

Saturday Evening: Dinner at Table 9 (7pm-11pm. Cost: $75.00 per person Menu attached.

Sunday Morning:  (11am-2pm) Brunch at the Hollow Brook Golf Club, Cost: $55.00 per person, children $25.00. This event is open to friends and family. Menu attached.

Sunday Afternoon: Trolley and Boat Ride will be running again.

Total cost for Boat, Trolley Ride, Dinner and Brunch is $155 per person. Golf and Pub Crawl are separate. We realize that this may seem costly, but the committee feels that you would rather spend extra time with old friends rather than just a few hours.  As the song goes, ”We may never meet this way again.” Come and have fun

The PHS 50^th Reunion Committee

 

November 8, 2015

          Over the past week, a lot has been accomplished by the Reunion Committee and in overall planning.  Frank Duquette, Judie Carbone, and I were in Peekskill last Tuesday the 3rd of November to make arrangements at Table 9 and the Hollowbrook Club.  The Committee of 8 of us met on Skype for a conference call on Wednesday nite to talk about all of the plans so far for the Reunion and what has to be done next.  Judie, Frank, and I also met online on Thursday to talk about the most recent Email Blast.  We will be talking again tomorrow, the 9th, and there will be another Committee Meeting on Skype on Wednesday to finish up what we started last week.  We are glad that those of you who are reading this have joined Class Creator and hope you will be sending in your deposit if you have not already done so.  We are happy with this website so far and look forward to using it to keep organized right up to the time of the Reunion.  Please contact Frank, Judie, or myself with any questions, ideas, or comments.  Our contact information is on the Email Blast, above.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Peekskill High School 50^th Reunion Second Email Blast October 16, 2016

Dear Fellow Classmates,

We have many things to share with you and most importantly, we need your input. Since the survey was sent in August, 34 classmates have committed to attend the reunion, one person is considering it. The breakdown is such:

• Thursday Golf at Hollow Brook Golf Club (pending)

• Friday night Pub Crawl- 36 committed

• Saturday morning and early afternoon Boat/Trolley- 12

• Saturday evening Dinner 36 committed and 6 maybes

• Sunday morning Brunch 33 committed, 3 maybes

• Sunday afternoon Boat and Trolley- 4 committed

People indicated uncertainty in asking a spouse or significant other to the events.  Please, invite them there will be activities for everyone.  We believe that we will have at least 100 people to attend the reunion, but we need your help.  If you haven’t done so already, complete the attached survey and send it to Judith Carbone at mollygirl10@optonline.net, so we have an accurate head count.  As with all reservations, we are being asked to put down deposits to reserve the place/event.  Again, we need your assistance.   Therefore, we are asking for a deposit of $35.00 to be submitted by 11/15/15. We are happy to let you know that plans are being made for our 50th Year Class Reunion. There has been a Committee of about ten of us, headed by Rich Eisenberg and Frank Duquette, who have been contacting classmates and researching activities and venues for the Reunion Weekend.

Presently, we plan to hold the festivities on the weekend of October 14,15, and 16, 2016. The main party, on Saturday night, will be held at The Table 9 Restaurant, Annsville Circle, from 7-11 p.m. There will also be time for a Meet and Greet on Friday night, and a farewell brunch on Sunday afternoon. Some of these plans are still in the formative stages. We would like to get your input to see what you are interested in attending. Please see the two attachments explaining the activities and a survey to be completed by you.

We have also reserved forty hotel rooms if you are coming in from out of town. The details for these are in the attachment.

While we still have a lot of time to firm up our arrangements, we would like to do so sooner rather than later, in case adjustments have to be made. We are still working on an estimate for the cost to each of us for the weekend, which will depend on the number of people planning to attend.

We have updated the Peekskill High School Facebook Page please visit and also check out the Alumni Reunion Store website where you can purchase PHS class memorabilia. A percentage of all sales will go the Reunion Committee to defer the cost of the overall reunion activities. You can also learn more by visiting:
