It is always great to see as many of you as possible. Where did the time fly? One thing for sure in life, is all of it's twists and turns. At the reunion (2002?) prior to this one, I was settled in what I "thought" was my "ride-to retirement",.... An engineer for a thriving phone company! Thanks to technology, and bad economics,... I was a product of the good ol' American "Downsizing". Since then, I have also hosted (2) of my own radio shows!,... but the Depression of 2008-09 even took it's toll on That career. Life trenches onward. I have completed my First "Solo" CD project! 14 songs, along with (2) Bonus Christmas tunes. I am Very proud of this effort, that took a ton of time and hard work to complete,..... but was well worth it. Back in 2007, I was awarded "Songwriter Of The Year" By SOWI (Songwriters Of Wisconsin International). Some of my songs have been considered by Major Artists for recording, and a couple of them were actually demo'd by Jeff Carson, who had a couple of top 10 Country Hits. So, at 50,..... I'm still plugging away at that dream of penning the next #1. It's not everyday that a guy from tiny Peshtigo, can go down to Nashville and hang out with Hit writers and Grammy winners who know ya by name,....so I guess hard work, persistance, and networking really can pay off. One thing I have realized through the years,... is how much I am Proud to be from Peshtigo. Though life has taken me from Coast to Coast, the values, friends, experiences, and memories made in this area are priceless. One thing I find rewarding, is "re-connecting" with some of my ol' classmates after all these years. So when I hear someone say something like "Why should I go to a damn class reunion?", or "I didn't hang around with any of those people then, why should I now?",..... I find that really sad. I think we had a GREAT class,.... and always look forward to catching up with everyone. Here's to another 30! ++++
UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE:
HEY! Since we all were together last,.... I landed a job at the County Jail as a Corrections Officer! Yep,... Our good buddy Dave Gregersen (Moose) was one of my trainers! It is a very challenging job and extremely interesting. So glad to be back in the working world. Our 30th reunion was a HOOT! Thanks for sharing all your memories!
