Old Philadelphia The photo depicts several students departing from Germantown High School built in 1915 after the designs of Henry Decourcey Richards at 5901 Germantown Avenue. The 3 1/2 story brick building contained 65 classrooms, an auditorium, gymnasium, infirmary, and library. Decourcey, a school architect, was the chief draftsman for the Board of Public education from 1906 to 1919. Photo Credit: Library Company of Philadelphia. Photo was taken on January 1916
