Memorial services for Roberta V. "Bobbie" Harper, 60, of Coos Bay, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, Fourth and Elrod, Coos Bay. The Rev. Del Butcher will officiate. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary.

She was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Eddington, Pa., to Frederick and Mabel (Lampe) Mumenthaler. She died Dec. 26, 2001, in Coos Bay.

Bobbie left Pennsylvania in 1960, moving to Albany, where she met and married Stanley Lloyd Harper in July 1961. They lived in Reedsport, Albany and Jefferson before moving to Reno, Nev., where she worked as a night auditor at the El Dorado Hotel and Casino. In 1989, they moved to Coos Bay, where she worked for the Pony Village Motor Lodge, as a night auditor, then at the Red Lion Inn. She has worked at The Mill Casino-Hotel, first in the gift shop, then in the accounting department and most recently at the front desk as a night auditor.

Bobbie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. If you asked her what was most important in her life, she would tell you it was her family. She was happiest when she was with her grandchildren. She had a giving heart and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Her heart and ready smile made her loved by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Stewart and Lenora Williams of North Bend; son-in-law, Chris Williams of North Bend; son-in-law and best friend, Richard Stewart of Coos Bay; grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle and Matthew Stewart of Coos Bay and Kyle Williams of North Bend; sisters, Edie Wiengard of Woodbine, N.J., Anna Wesler of Winterhaven, Fla., and Mabel Chapin of Auburndale, Fla.; brother, Frederick Mumenthaler of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews; and many caregivers who became very dear to her heart after her illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; and sister, Virginia Wright.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary
