Ilene and I,by coincidence, bounced around together during what should have been our early college years. We both wound up working at the old Lit Brothers department store, in retailing. She seemed happy then and bright, and we were glad to see each other, as if GHS somehow continued in this unlikely setting; as if it hadn't ended yet. She was so pretty, and I was always attracted to her(and that red hair), but never quite got to know her well.
The last time I saw her we were crossing Chestnut Street in center city, Philadelphia. She waved me a kiss and I guess I waved one back -- and that was that.
