Vincent Gallagher

Working for ExxonMobil since 1980 in Wyoming, Louisiana and New Jersey. Working and Raising kids (still) consumes my time. Barely have time to enjoy my 13 grand children (Marissa, Karley, Haley, Makenzie, Madyson, Branson, Landon, Gabrielle, Shelby, Jaxon, Branson, Mylah and Kiera (#14, Kennedy, WIL be here by Christmas).

Shortly after having the new intercom system installed (1978?), my friend Tim Clymer, decided he would conduct a little experiment. Anyone who had Mrs. Martin for English will remember all of the artifacts she had lying about her classroom. Tim decided to pick up a conch shell and speak into it, simulating the intercom system. "Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Martin", he started. "Yes" she replied, looking up at the speaker on the wall. Then He stated, "Mrs. Martin, please have Vince Gallagher report to office right away". She looked at me and gestured for me to leave the room. When I didn't move, she got a little flustered and said "well Mr. Gallagher". Of course by this time the class was laughing and giggling out loud. Tim gave himself away and we all enjoyed one of the many times someone got Mrs. Martin to blush a little. She was such an excellent teacher despite her eccentricities. Her love for Literature and the places in the world and in time it could take you was a priceless asset. Funny tidbit is that she also taught my mother as Mrs. Ciphers(?) at P'Burg high as a young teacher. I'll never forget her and the impact she had on my life.
