Bill Rihs  We were Cubs in American Legion baseball. My uncle attended every game I played. He had pitched for Tempe Union HS just before the War. He had been made to convert to being Right Handed in Oklahoma because Left Handers were looked upon as being under Satanic Influence. He pitched Right Handed, and the Cubs wanted to Sign him up when he was 14 years old. He was ready to go, and my Grandparents found out, and his early BB Career was put over for when he turned 16. By the time he was 16, WW II had started and he was in the Navy. The EVIL connotation is why Coats wants to call me Lefty Lol

Micheal, of course we were the Cubs, my dad was born and raised in Chicago. I was just born there but inherited the bias of a Cubs fan, the last 10 plus years of my career I had a lot of business in Chicago. Made sure I went to a bunch of games. Thanks for the story "lefty"👍

ANOTHER PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE FROM DR. SCIENCE GUY

Alcohol & Fats

It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies.

The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat a lot of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

Conclusion:  Eat and drink what you like.  Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

You're Welcome.

Jim, rice may be the secret to a long life. The Chinese consume it in large quantities and are among the healthiest people on earth. Now that I think of it, the Russians seem to endure for a long time. Could it be the  Borsch? I know that it is from Ukraine, but the Russians love it and seem to thrive on it unless they are drafted into fighting Ukraine. Perhaps the leftists are correct. Maybe it's the Communist lifestyle that holds the secret.

DeWitt  With your statement about the longevity of Russians, are you saying  that People should, to have longlife, they should live life Miserable and Pissed Off?

In 1961 a gentleman named Joe Jones sang a song that reminds me of Donald Trump.  "You talk to Much".  That song plays in my head almost every time I hear him blowvating.  (and that's way too much)   Listen to it--I think it will put a smile on your face.  But I have to admit he's getting a lot of good things done!!

Frank? right on about Trump, I remember that song, I wish he would not repeat himself so much along with exagerating on almost every subject, however I love his actions and results.🇺🇸🇺🇸

Frank.  I agree with your last post.

I have said for years that I do NOT like Trump's bloviating, but I sure as hell like his results.  Which one would the left really want if they were honest??  A President who blows his horn and gets nothing done (Biden, Newsom, Pritzker....) or a President who crows about everything BUT gets the job done.  Easy choice for me.

I do feel sorry for people in his cabinet (Like Hegseth) who have to stand around and listen to the "rinse and repeat" words from Trump when he, Hegseth, could be doing something else.  However, I understand why Trump repeats what he has accomplished and keeps his key people close.  I am in favor of that tactic.  It's a show of strength and man do we need that in this "world climate.'

MINNEAPOLIS CHURCH SHOOTING

I'm not going to bore you by going on and on about this horrible event.  BUT....I hope "The Country" concentrates on the actual cause of the shooting which was a mentally deranged young man who bought 3 guns and killed 2 children plus himself.  We can only guess what was truly in that killer's mind.  From what I read and see, HE told us he was going to do this.

What I know is that the guns were wielded by a person and they did NOT shoot on their own.  Gun control is a different subject, but worth exploring.

What I DO feel is that Red Flag Laws need to be expanded.  "Law Enforcement" is stymied at every juncture by organizations such as the ACLU and other left wing lawyers and politicians when attempting to look into someone who literally tells us through social media, etc. that they are insane or deranged and likely to commit heinous acts against the innocent.

I believe in confidentiality when applied to my...and your personal "medical" situation.  BUT, with all the technology this country has accumulated, we SHOULD be able to come up with a "Predictability Plan."  We have to breach that wall of confidentiality somehow.  To do nothing is tantamount to saying "a few deaths are worth our confidentiality."

My heart breaks to see those surviving children on TV who are possibly scarred forever and to see the families who have to live with death....the death of their own precious children at the hands of this deranged young man.

AMERICA FIRST!!

Jim, well said. ACLU is to blame for professionals not being able to intervene before sick people do the unthinkable.

Jin and Bill, I concur!  I heard  a good analogy.  "We don't blame the Car when drink Driver kills somebody!"  You'll never convince me that this FREAKS Mother didn't see the signs and not report him.  Over and over it comes out later that people close to these FREAKS  do see dangerous signets and say or do nothing.  On a lighter note, I've always found it ironic that on Labor Day, we got the day off.

Words are not enough to express the sadness and disgust of what is happening to our children, whether it be in schools, in the homes, or on the streets. Gone are the days when we can let our children walk down the streets of our neighborhoods in safety. Gone are the days when we don't have to worry bout them playing outside with their friends. Gone are the days when we didn't have to ensure our doors and windows are locked with some electronic security in place. And sadly, gone are the days when we can feel that our children are secure and safe in school. Children are in more danger today by just walking down the street than they ever were in our history. Schools and churches were once considered safe havens, but those days are gone. What is the answer to all this? It may be too late for us to solve these problems on our own. The harder we try to enforce laws, the more they are broken, and creating more laws only creates more laws to be broken. I think the only answer to this is what Winston Churchill once referred to as  "A STRONG HAND FROM SOMEPLACE." I don't expect things to get much better until that STRONG HAND appears.

In 1573 Thomas Tusser said, "A Fool and his Money are soon parted!"  This time the beneficiary is a Casino in Vegas.  Some fool made the biggest bet on a football game when the idiot bet a Million Dollars that Texas would beat Ohio State.

To Frank and others commenting on the 'blowvitting' of President Trump, I somewhat agree. He does like to brag on himself, but to a certain point, perhaps he deserves it. He is and has been a strong President, but he should take a lesson from one of our other great Presidents, and "(Talk)_ softly and carry a big stick.

09/01/25 03:50 PM #15403

DeWitt.  I liked your last post.  Especially where you quoted Teddy Roosevelt, one of my heroes!  I think Teddy said what you quoted or "Speak softly and carry a big stick."  Either way you were right on the money and I wish Pres. Trump would emulate Teddy.  I hope I never hear Trump say "Newscum" again.  Pure 7th grade buly in the playground tactics.  But......it has worked and I fall back on "one" of my Mantras:

" DON'T MUCH CARE WHAT YOU SAY.  I CARE WHAT YOU DO."

I saw on one of the SocialMedia cites that if you were to categorize all the Shooters who have shot innocent people for no apparent reason, that they All have categorized themselves, in other words, thought of themselves as Trannies, which I interpret to mean,, they had real confusion about their own sexual identity. Where this turns into outwardly directed Anger Rage Aggression against third parties seems to be the Focal Point where interference by Professionals/Concerned Third Parties seems to be the Critical Point to "Disarm Them" to protect others. It is also the point where those who are concerned about Abridgment of the potential Shooters Constitutional Rights assert Legal Actions to prevent confiscation of Firearms, and Revealing Identities, as well as Mental/Emotional Assessments of a potential perpetrator. Albeit I contend that access to Firearms does not prevent the Violence, one can commit mayhem with a Hammer purchased at Home Depot, as took place in Chinatown over 20 years ago. This set of circumstances seems to be reoccurring and so some legal mechanism should be explored to help prevent events such as the Minneapolis Shootings. What is very regrettable aside from the obvious, Loss of  Life, is that in every single Instance, the old 'hobby horses" come out, and the  Gun Control Fanatics begin Railing agains Gun owmership, then it seems the ability to Focus on solving the actual problem and its prevention is lost in Rhetoric. I happen to be lifetime NRA, so that also has a bearing on how i relate to what should be done to try and prevent what just happened.

I beileve that the First Incident must have a temporary surrender of potential weapons, firearms or otherewise, for a limited period of time, which Mandatorily must include at least 24 months of Psychological Evaluation and prescribed Treatment and showing at the end, a Measured demostration of Ability to Control Anger and Agression towards Third Parties. I believe the Law Enforcement people actually have thiese Evaluations in place presently. We need to borrow from them what they will share with us, the Unites States Military also has such Testing and Evaluation Techniques, I believe one is the Minnesota Multiphasic Evaluation Testing. Alternatively, the First Incident exhibitor may voluntarily Surrender any further handling, and ownership of dangerous weapons. Similar to Alcoholics, who must willingly give up consumption of alcohol for Lifetime because they simply cannot handle any Consumption due to their own addictive and uncontrollable behavior. It is not so hard, to give up something to avoid Loss of Life now is it.

A Second Incident exhibitor must absolutely Surrender Deadly Weapons ownership for a  period of Teh Years, and that is an absolute.Restriction. You will be able to gain their Use and ownership Right if you can show a Court that yeu have undergone Rigorous Therapy, and can prove to the Courts Satisfaction that your able to handle your Agressions.

I think the above is about as close as you can get to finding a Solution. What we all must realize, is that present  in this World, theie is an Element of Evil. No one much wants to mention it, let  alone talk about it, but it does exist. Look at what is happening between Russia and Ukraine, and Iran et. al. vs Israel.

As to Trump and his bragging about his achievements, he is no where near perfect, he's the best we got right now especially compared to the recent fodder we have had to put up with. The tendency Trump has which alarms me the most is that he has a Difficult time admitting when he is wrong. I know, anyone who studies the "Science of Effective Leaderfship" will assure you that a :Leader must never admit that he has made a Mistake, examples of this come to us through the Fairy Tale about the Emperor who had No Clothes, or  Humpty Dumpty, or Adolph Hitler invading Russia in WW II, but Biden couldn't take an elevator because he would not be able to tell you what Floor He was on, or going to. .

The Democrats are fighting Trump's tariffs policy which is bringing in Billions of dollars and is "America First" based.  A left wing court voted 7 to 4 that the tariffs are unconstitutional and that the Congress has the authority, not Trump.  I hope Mike Johnson puts it to a vote and supports the Trump decision.  It's going to be interesting to see what the outcome will be if it goes to the Supreme Court?

So, Lisa Cook (Fed Governor) says that claiming 3 properties as her primary residence was just an oversight and should be ignored.  A primary residence gets special Mortgage preferences.  First, a lower down payment and second a lower interest rate.  Fed Governors are instrumental in setting interest rates and financial stability in our country and their personal finances should be above reproach.  She should be fired!!

i am amazed that the Democrats are opposing the President on Tariffs. It seems that anything the President does is subject to a Knee Jerk Response of the Democrats with an Opposition, followed by Legal Actions that are always filed in front of Liberal Judges. Many years ago, when in Law School I worked for an Insurance Company controlled Law Firm with the Job of as much as possible denying Automoble Accident Claims for an Insurer with initials SF, and it was a common practice for the Attorneys in the Law Firm to File Claims with Judges that were picked in a so called Lottery System, but this was actually not the case, as the Clerk's at the Filing Window would tell us which Judge was next for Assignment of a New Case File, so we would wait for the Right Judge's name to come up. I suspicion that the new program of leveling off Tariffs paid by the US, with Tariffs paid by Foreign Governments to us, is really digging into the pockets of Senators, Congresspersons, and other Government officials. The grossly unequal Tariffs which were in favor of Foreign Govenments and against the USA have been like Ticks on the Healthy Dog, Too many Ticks over to long a time period, and you have screwed your own Pooch.

Our Forefathers had experience with such corruption, and had bucked it for many years, and that is one of the Main Reasons for them leaving England, and other European Countries, to found a new Government or Governments, as some were opposet to a USA at all because they feared what we are experiencing Right Now, a Deep State so deeply dug in that "...its no longer democrats and republicans, boy, its the haves, and the have nots, and you have to decide which side of the Table your on, Boy" Tariff changes upset the Apple Cart in many ways, and interfere with the flow of unearned Riches.

So, Ilhan Omar, who is always railing against Rich people and endorsing taxing them to the hilt, is now being exposed for her hypocrisy.  The "Poor Little Rich Girl" (who the Lutheran Church brought here as a child from Somalia) is a millionaire.  The other hypocrisy is that Muslims (yes, she's one--check out her attire) don't allow alcohol in any form.  Well, her and her husband list the ownership of a California winery on their financial statement.  I wonder when the Muslims will punish her?  You just can't make this crap up!  I just saw a replay of Joy Reid claiming that Donald Trump was not shot in the ear.  You just can't make this crap up!
