I will start by saying that it is wild to know that in less than one week I'll be seeing many of you who I've not seen for 30 years! My partner Hilary and I live just a short plane ride away in San Diego and plan on attending the Saturday evening event. I will also be sharing this weekend with my parents who live in Phoenix.
Here is a brief version of my years since high school. I spent my first year living in Tucson and attending U of A pursuing a degree in business. Although there were aspects of this city and school that I enjoyed, overall it wasn’t a fit for me, so I transferred to AZ state and graduated three years later. I began my career in the corporate world and worked at a local Scottsdale company for several years, and aside from appreciating the financial success and the opportunity to learn so much about the world of business, I found myself feeling very unfulfilled.
I took some time off to discover my purpose and passion in life. I reconnected with my desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others through assisting them to access greater levels of happiness. I found myself accepting an executive director position at a spiritual organization in San Francisco, called Universal Endowment for Human Empowerment. Soon after I did what I’d never thought I’d do again, which was go back to school, only this time I was excited about what I was learning in the field of Psychology. I even went on to get a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology, which is best described as the field of psychology which integrates mind, body and spirit psychological methods with spiritual disciplines.
For the past 25 years I have focused my attention in the area of change and transformation---coaching, counseling and teaching individuals to better understand themselves and access their authentic potential.
Of course there is more to my story, yet I will spare you the details and simply say that I love my life and I feel extremely grateful for all that I have. Hilary and I have a business called Authenticity Associates, a holistic counseling and coaching practice focusing on empowering people to achieve their full potential.
