Comments:

I have been enjoying life with my wonderful husband and amazing three kids. We enjoy being business owners. Two are in the medical/caregiving field and one is in relationship marketing, helping other businesses succeed.

My daughter Rachel is a sophomore - wow - and, just began driving. We don't see her much anymore... mostly for money or a meal with us (the 'with us' is optional to her most of the time - lol). She is bright, kind, and daddy's little girl, just like I was.

My twin sons, Mike and Sam, are in seventh grade. They have become quite the social beings this year. They love baseball and their dad is usually an assistant coach.

Since high school, I went to both GCC and PCC, and then graduated from ASU in 1984 with a B.S. in Liberal Arts, but a 'minor' in business and marketing. After a stint owning an advertising company, I went to work for MicroAge Computer Stores headquarters, and eventually worked for Compaq as the Channel Marketing Manager at MicroAge. From there, I went into the car biz, and became the Fleet Manager at Showcase Honda, where a friend 'fixed me up' with my to-be husband. I eventually left there to work with my husband Mark in our respiratory company and to become a parent full time for a while. Missing the car business, I eventually became a wholesaler and still hold a license, but I am not very active anymore.

In 2007, we were introduced to Send Out Cards through one of my dearest friends and used it successfully to improve employee retention, strengthen account relationship, increase revenue, and decrease our aging. But, when a friend in New York was stricken with breast cancer and I sent her an emotional heart-felt card through the same system, I was hooked. I have been introducing other businesses and consumers to this amazing system ever since and I am proud to be a Senior Manager with the company and nearing Executive.

Our latest journey began when my mom was afflicted with dementia and needed daily living assistance. As her conservator, with my sister Nan as guardian, we began to interview and use nearly every caregiving company we could find. They gave huge promises, but didn't really seem to have a successful system for finding quality personnel and there was no consistency between caregivers. Since we have been in the business of providing a very similar service (although medically trained) for 24 years, it was a natural to enter this non-medical market. We are excited that we just launched our ads in the Harkins and AMC Theatres this March and April. Tell me what you think if you catch them.

In our spare time, we enjoy movies, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. Our favorite spots are in the Caribbean. We absolutely love Jamaica!

And, yes, for those who are asking.... Although my dad passed away this January 3, my mom still lives in that big house on Central. I am there about 3 times a week. :)

School Story:

Gosh, there are so many memories from Central. The close friendships I made stand out the most. Some of my teachers were the most fun and influential people I have every known. Attending football, baseball and wrestling. Being a Mat Maid and on Frosh Tennis. Playing raquetball with friends and teachers. Working on projects with classmates. Burning up our only phone line talking with friends all night long, much to my parents' dismay until we got a second line (boy, cell phones changed this).

Hanging out on the weekends with friends is also one of the most memorable things. We used to go to bars to go dancing, back in the day when a little acetone could make you one or two years older.

One of my most memorable experiences happened while in high school, but not at high school. I had asked permission to go to Lee (John) Beauchamp's house on my bike (about 5 miles) and of course my mom said no. I rode there anyway with the intent to go up 'to the snow' for the day with Lee and Brian Ehly (CHS-1978 - who sadly died in 1987 in a horrid air ambulance crash). We had a great time and I was gloating that I had got away with it without getting into trouble. We were heading back and Brian, who was driving his small truck with the three of us in the cab, decided to stop for gas. We couldn't understand why he flew out of the station so fast. He laughed and said he thought it would be fun to gas and dash - funny since gas was so cheap back then. Being in that cab and fleeing at over the speed limit didn't give us much choice as passengers. It wasn't long before flashing lights caught up to us. For those who knew my short-tempered dad, imagine his reaction when the Yavapai County Sherriff's department called to say we had been charged as accessories to the crime. On top of that, Lee's mom couldn't drive, so we had to get permission for my dad to take custody of Lee. That was THE LONGEST ride back to Phoenix. For once, my dad didn't yell or say much. He didn't have to. Sad for Brian, he had turned 18 the week before and was charged as an adult.

Although it certainly wasn't funny (or fun) at the time, my family laughed over that calamity for years! And, now my kids laugh at me about it.
