June 5, 1951 - February 19, 2019
She came to us as Margaret Mary Feldmeier, but we always called her Margy. Formally named after her surrogate grandmother, Margarita Cruz, she was born on June 4, 1951, to William and Virginia (Cruz) Feldmeier in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the second of four, right behind her brother Bill. Margy grew up in Phoenix, went to grade school at St Simon and Jude, then Maryland, graduating from Washington High School in 1969 and Glendale Community College in 1971.
Margy spent her entire working life in the banking/financial industry with institutions such as Arizona Bank and Security Pacific. The last several years were with the fraud division of Bank of America. Early in her career, she was with American Express and for a short time with a bank in San Diego.
In 1978, she abandoned the Feldmeier last name and took Stahl when she married Tom. This marriage led to the birth of two wonderful daughters -- Jill and then Kelly. Margy was never a soccer mom but instead focused on numerous activities for her daughters and among them their years long affiliation with the Arizona Pride Cloggers. As a clogger mom, she made lasting friendships not just with other parents but with the other kids. Margy was also an avid fan of Rattlers Arena Football and “The Young and the Restless”. Margy was noted for always remembering birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. Hallmark Cards benefited from her constant purchases of get well cards that were sent continually to the sick and infirm. In addition to being blessed with Jill and Kelly, Margy's life blossomed when Jill married Clint and three special grandchildren were born -- first was Ella and then five years later, twins Wren and Willow.
She was the best grandmother ever. Margy and Ella were best of friends. Always having sleepovers, going to movies and playing games of all sorts. She always had treats for Ella in her purse. Margy didn't want to be called Grandma – it just seemed too old for her – so she thought Gramcracker would be a fun name. But Ella was too young to say that, so it came out as “Cracker”, so it stuck. Margy was always just known as Ella's Cracker! Margy wanted to share her love of traveling with her two daughters, so she started a yearly tradition of a girls trip to new places – from the Caribbean, to Australia, to Iceland, and to India – that continued over 15 years.
Margy is survived by her forever friend Tom, daughters Jill (husband Clint and their daughters Ella, Wren and Willow) and Kelly, as well as her brother Bill and other siblings. Sadly, Margy has left us on Earth, but we are happy that she is with God, her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and numerous friends made along the way.
We know she will be in our Lord’s hands and her guiding spirit will always be with us.

Margy and I met our freshman year and became instant friends. We had many fun adventures throughout high school and at GCC. We were each others maid of honor and enjoyed many years of raising our kids together at family gatherings. Margy was my best friend and was like a sister to me. I will miss our frequent happy hour meetings and going to oldies concerts together. I am thankful for all the years we had, she will be deeply missed.

Francy - I cannot imagine how heartbroken you are! Thank you for sharing with us your fun and wonderful best friend journey with Margie. How lucky you both were to have found each other and how special your friendship was to have lasted all these years. I thought Margie was a very sweet person and it’s so sad to keep hearing about our classmates that leave us way too soon.

I am so saddened about the news of Margy. She was so sweet, funny, and kind. I always remember the duo Margy and Francy even at GCC. It’s hard to loose a classmate yet so hard to loose a best friend. I was looking forward to seeing her at our 50 th Reunion in September. We’ve lost 3 classmates already in 2019... Steve Porianda, Tom Smith(Abraham) and now Margy.😢 RIP Margy❤️

Margy and I were very close friends in grade school at Sts Simon & Jude. I still have a picture of us at my mother's house for one of my birthday parties. Mary Jo Grothouse and Teresa Hawking were two others I remember in the picture. I was looking forward to seeing her at the 50th Reunion. She was such a sweetheart and good friend. Blessings to Margy and her family. Rest in peact, my dear friend.

Wow, I am blown away. What a loss. Not only was I a friend at Washington, but my wife became good friends with Margy when they worked together at House Of Fabrics in Christown. Margy was always a joy to talk to, great sense of humor, great smile. She kept in touch with Karen and I every holiday with cards and family updates. I remember driving around in her prized VW Bug "Elmo Glatsby", she handled a stick shift like a pro. Francy, we were looking forward to seeing you two at out 50th. Go with peace.

Though my memory of High School is a little vague, I can clearly remember the sweet smile and personality of Margy. Always treated everyone the same: With a big heart, good nature and sense of humor. Makes me sad that we were so close to seeing each other again, when Life, as it does, separates us from that opportunity. Rest in Peace, Margy and know we all liked and cared for you a great deal.

I did not know Margy passed away until the 50th reunion. I remember speaking to her at the 40 th reunion she was a very charming and gracious woman sorry to read about her passing.
