Retired. Careers included advertising 12 years, financial adviser 22 years. Now I am discovering the activities I had no time for while working. Currently taking piano lessons, drawing lessons, Spanish and dance lessons. Also enjoying volunteer activities. Member Toastmasters (VP Public Relations) and Elks (Public Relations Committee).
In senior year, I was hired by Mrs. Christensen to serve in the teachers lunch room and collect their lunch money. It was a surprise to me that they were just regular folks expressing peculiar opinions of the food and like us students, they sometimes forgot their lunch money.
How tough it can be to balance essential life planning with living in the moment. I like doing both very much. Doing mostly the latter now.
I would not be so intimidated by the teachers and would ask their advice on how to excel in their class. I would explore and focus more on activities I most enjoy and get really good at something instead of jumping from one to another. Oops, I still do that. That's no way to get to the Olympics or Carnegie Hall, but I must admit, it is fun and keeps life interesting.
I've always had a secret wish to be a soap opera actress. I wouldn't want to watch the show, but it's steady work.
No
Exploring more things to learn and see. Would like to be really good at one thing, but can't imagine what it would be. And of course attending the 60th reunion. Consider joining the committee with me.

Be Kind. Pass it on.
In 4th grade the teacher said we could leave early for recess after our reading out loud exercise. Then she called on a slow reader. Oh no. Carol saw me grimace when he started to read and gave me a look that said "you know better than that Nikki". I agreed and made a little vow to myself to be more patient and kind like Carol. At our 50th reunion I told Carol about my memory. She didn't recall this minor moment of course, but she wiped tears away as she said she was touched that she had a positive impact on someone and thanked me for telling her. Carol was still the tender hearted person I knew in school. I am so happy she was my classmate and friend.
