Janet was truly one of my favorite friends at PHS.  As we all know, she was smart, quirky & had an incredibly sharp wit.  She also had a unique style even back then when most of us just wanted to conform.  We had a ton of fun and were occasionally 'partners in crime'.  We lost touch as old friends sometimes do, but I have always remembered our times together with great fondness.  She was one of the very best.

"Scotch and Soda, a jigger of gin,.... oh what a spell you've got me in....oh my"......I can visualize our dear friend crooning that toon nestled with her beloved Martin guitar. She called her own shots and was one of the friendliest. Very rarely saw her without a smile on her face. She was one of a kind and will be missed by many friends she made, those we know and many, many more....

Jack Fritschi, PHS 1961 shares his memories of Janet.

I am so truly sorry to hear of Cappelli's passing (whoever called her Janet?)

One of the best people to walk on this earth.

Always a smile, a good thought, a positive phrase...

Yes, words cannot cover the emotions we all feel right now.

RIP Cappelli. Go give your brother Larry a kick in the ass....

My dear friend BBC ( beer belly Cappelli) thats ok she called me JPL ( just plain lips). I was shocked and sad that my best friend in school had passed. She was my first friend when we moved to Piedmont. We walked to Havens everyday for grammer school. She even helped me carry my very large cello home...that didn't last long!! We grew up sharing secrets, storys, camp Agusta , tears and all the joy that 2 girls could hold. I could go on forever but I won't write that novel yet!! she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her...

This news totally broke my heart as I loved Janet and shared so many, many memories with her of fun, hysterical time in high school. She was one of my very closest friends…  RIP dear Janet….

Janet,

You will be missed.

I remember your kindness, your genuine care for others,

your intelligence and wit.

Thanks for the warm memories of hanging out with you, talking, making music

and having fun. I remember your dad getting ready for work playing the saxiphone in a big band. He’d smile, say good buy and hop into his 56 Lincoln Continental with his horn, and fly off into the sunset.

A lot of people love you and will be sending you the best energy they can.

I liked Janet a lot. What a friendly lady she was.  Always with a smile on her face.

I'm so sorry to hear of her passing.  Life is just so darn short!  I wish us all peace and enjoyable times with our friends and family.  Live life to the fullest.  I've been reading about death, books and on-line talks from well known author, Frank Ostaseski.  I recommend him highly.   Love to you all from Nova Scotia.
