A gentle guy and loyal friend; really underappreciated by most of our class. He did beat out the "fella's (sorry Spence) for commissioner of entertainment. I spent a few happy hours in MacClane's office for making an unauthorized snotty comment about "the fellas" in my intro for Gene in election assembly; but well worth it. This post is slightly tardy. but... I just want to add to what Cal and Bev wrote. Gene was always positive and friendly. For those who took the time to talk to him it didnt take long to realize his sincere kindness.
I found this post today with sadness. I knew Gene mostly through the music department. He always had a ready smile and was an amazingly funny guy. The world will always miss a good sense of humor.

Gene was one of the nicest guys in school. I was looking forward to seeing him again, and I am sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in peace, Gene.
