Steve Szymkiewcz was another great friend in high school and after. Steve was smart but wasn’t really motivated. It was only after he graduated that he got excited about engineering. He transferred to UCSB where he earned his engineering degree. He then followed in his father’s footsteps and went to work for Bechtel as an engineer. Another really good guy taken away from us too soon.
