Carolyn J. Ugland, 78, died Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Carolyn was born in Pierre on Feb 21, 1943. She graduated from TF Riggs High School in June of 1961 and soon after married Robert (Bob) C. Ugland at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre, SD. They entered into their 59 year marriage on August 12th, 1961 and lived in Pierre, SD for a short time, then Rapid City, SD for 15 years. In 1978 they moved to Denver, CO with their 3 children.

Her most enjoyable past time was singing in the church choir which she did for 40 years, first at St. Jude Catholic Church and then at Christ on the Mountain Church, both in Lakewood, CO.

Carolyn and Bob purchased a winter home in 1998 at Sunbird Golf Resort in Chandler, AZ and began spending their winter months there in 2000. When in Chandler, she attended St. Stephens Catholic Church and was also a member of the Sunbird Singers choir.

Carolyn’s faith was apparent in her everyday life, even the day she was presented with going into hospice. Her exact words when she was told were, “I have faith in Jesus”.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Lakewood, CO, their three children, Linda Croy of Parker, CO, Cathy Cederberg (Tim) of Aurora, CO and Mark Ugland of Lakewood, CO, granddaughters Jessica Croy and Erin and Leah Cederberg. She is also survived by 3 siblings, Janet Talley (Larry) of Rapid City, SD, Nancy Boyd (Rick) of Spearfish, SD, brother Raymond of Pierre, SD, brother-in-law, Howard Ugland (Connie) of Spearfish, SD and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mildred Tobin of Pierre, SD, grand parents, 2 infant sons, Baby Boy Ugland who was stillborn in 1963 and Michael Brian Ugland born in 1964, both were full term. She was also preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews, a niece and grandnephews.

So sorry to hear about Carolyn.  We tried to have lunch when she and Bob were here in Arizona for the winter. I always enjoyed seeing her and catching up on her family.  She was a joy to visit with. My prayers to Bob and the family.

I remember many happy times at the Tobin house on the South East corner of the Governor's campus when we attended Washington elementary school.  Carolyn was a quiet, shy, beautiful friend. May she rest in peace.
