Life Since High School

I married and started a family almost right after high school. I coached girls senior league softball, competitive gymnastics, soccer, and adult mixed league softball. I've played semi-pro field hockey for a short time after high school and league soccer and softball until a few years ago. One of my daughters is a physical education teacher (obviously my life long dream to any of you who knew me) and occasionally I get a chance to help her out with her teams.

I worked in the medical field for about thirty years. The last twenty years were spent as the office manager for a large family practice in Hammonton. I retired in November 2005. I am now busier than ever doing I don't know what. But I'm loving it!
I married my husband, Mike, in 1988. He is The National Exhibits Director for The Federal Aviation Administration.
I've traveled to Singapore, Nicaragua, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, and Africa. Other than Singapore, the travels were for short term missionary trips.
My children are all married and doing wonderfully. I love spending time with my grandchildren. Fortunately they are all relatively close. The farthest is in Lancaster, Pa.

High School Memories:

Running for miles and miles and miles just for fun on a Saturday. I absolutely loved to run!

Playing basketball with Helen McCracken and field hockey with Joanie Whelan. If girls high school sports back then had the recognition they do now........

Keeping "time" for the tremendous state championship cross country team. ('66 '67 '68)
What an unbelievable group of guys. Remember running TO some of the meets, running IN the meet, then running home? Unstoppable. Remember Vic?

Walking to and from school (from the "avenues" in Garden Lake). It didn't matter if it was pouring or there was three feet of snow, we walked.

Not being able to go up the "big" steps because it was only for seniors. The upper classmen were on the left side of the building and the underclassmen were on the right side of the building.

I remember taking Latin for some odd reason and our Latin teacher was a football coach. We learned very little Latin because he would rather talk football (I honestly don't think he really knew Latin either). Into our third year, we got a real Latin teacher who was shocked at our lack of the "language" and was determined to teach us four years of Latin in two years. That was fun.

I remember getting sent to the principal's office by a substitute for talking and Mr. Maiese laughed so hard he didn't know what to do with me so he had me file some papers in his office until the end of the period.

There are so many memories. I loved high school. It was the absolute best time of my life. I love sharing those memories with my kids and grandkids.
