My husband, Dean Katsilas, remembers the craziest things about people.  He, Karl, and Tim McKee grew up in the same section of Forest Hills (Edgewood Acres).  They used to walk home from Hawthorne School together.

One day, they had a fight on the way home from school.  Karl was taller & bigger than Dean.  They were rolling around on the ground & got near a large pile of dog poop; Dean manuevered his way away from the pile; Karl, however, put his hand smack-dab in the middle of it.  The fight ended there.  Dean's fear was that Karl was going to rub his face in it, or hurl it at Dean, but Karl was so horrified at what happened, he just made his way home as fast as possible.  Dean & Tim were relieved at the turn of events.  Hopefully, this was a memory that Karl learned to laugh at, too.

I hope this memory is not inappropriate for the forum.  Boys will be boys & the funny memories of childhood give us joy.  R.I.P Karl.
