once Bill Hoover receives your payment!

We have several events for you to choose from:

Golf at  Riverview Golf Course: Thursday, September 29 at 9:00 am (NOT 8:00 am)

Tee Time is 9:00 am. Registration Deadline is August 1st. Payment: $30-40 due at the venue.

Gathering at Linden Grove: Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Doors open at 5:00 pm; DJ is from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Thursday night is Swing Dance & Oldies

Cover charge at the door is $10 (Cash) - "Pay at the Door". Parking is FREE

Food and Drinks are paid for individually. The "cash bar" accepts cash or credit cards.

Rivers of Steel Boat Cruise: Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11:40 am to 3:00 pm

NOTE: A Maximum of 70 people (during COVID restrictions) or 100 people (without restrictions)! So the First 70 to sign up are guaranteed passage, the next 30 to sign up are on a waiting list. Presently - Masks are required in cabin areas (COVID guidelines will be followed).

Cancellation Refund Requests will be considered with a Waiting List Substitution

MUST ARRIVE ON TIME!!

How much do you know about our city of Bridges, waterways, and skylines? On this PRIVATE event, we will glide up the rivers and back while socializing with our classmates. Feel free to move around the ship on both levels OR find a seat for an indoor or outdoor view. There will be a short orientation once we're boarded as a group to keep us safe (Life jackets available but not required to wear). This is a  rain or shine excursion, so bring a hat, sunglasses, a jacket, and comfortable shoes (avoid heels).

Park in the back lot of Carnegie Science Museum for $6-12/day (One Allegheny Avenue, Pgh 15212 OR FREE Parking at Rivers Casino (777 Casino Drive, Pgh, 15212): Exit out the front doors of the Casino, make a right on Casino sidewalk & Walk onto 3 Rivers Heritage Trail, down the small ramp - make a left on the trail (Stay on the right side to avoid bikers and walkers).

Bathrooms available on both floors (wheelchair accessible on the first floor) Elevator is available too.

No smoking or vaping on the ship! No glass of any kind (can bring water bottles or canisters).

Let's have some fun! Prizes will be given for the most creative hat, the sweetest hat and the most ghoulish hat. Make sure to "hold on to your hat"! There might also be a pop quiz on your adventure!

River Walk/Pub Crawl: Friday, September 30 from 3:00pm - ?? pm

 
This will be the perfect experience for Friday night! There are many options from which to choose. We will assemble after the River Cruise on the North Shore.
 
For those exercise enthusiasts, one can walk from the North Shore to Millvale Park and back. (3.4 miles, approximately 1 hr 6 min each way)
 
For those looking for less exercise and more libation, there are various pubs along the way, including Tequila Cowboy, Little Red Corvette and many more in close proximity. (.4 miles. approximately 8 min each way
 
For those looking for a bit of culture along the way, the Andy Warhol Museum offers half price tickets ($5) and a Happy Hour on Friday Nights (1.1 miles, approximately 22 minutes each way)
 
For those looking for exercise including a great dining experience, the Red Fin Blues restaurant at Washington's Landing offers a waterfront view and deck with pub style seafood, shellfish and buckets of beer (2.8 miles, approximately 55 min each way)
 
Parking at the Casino (North Shore) is free. If parking at the Science Center (a bit closer), prices vary, and your car can only remain until 10 PM.
 
Please wear comfortable shoes and abide by Riverwalk etiquette. ("Stay to the right, annouce passing on the left")     River Walk is Free... Pub Crawl cost will vary depending on what you choose

Picnic at South Park: Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00pm  to 6:00 pm

We have reserved the "Black Ashes Pavillion" large enough for 100 people, with electricity and a kitchenette area.( It's fabulous and a better spot than last year). 

Bathrooms are very close by; parking is right next to the pavilion; grass area is flat, perfect for yard games and mingling.

Food will be provided by Pasta Too. Snacks, soda and water are provided also.  BYOB

Activities include: Great conversation with classmates, live music, cornhole games, horseshoes, four square volleyball, perhaps a few games with friendly competition in mind?  Keep an open mind and warm up your arms. There could be more fun than mentioned.. 

Musicians can bring their instruments and amplifiers to jam (remember to share the spotlight).

What to Bring: additional yard games- ( please let us know what game you can lend for the day), folding chairs. Umbrellas, suntan lotion, hats, jackets, snake repellent (just kidding).

This event will take place rain or shine! There is room for everyone under the roof but with nice weather we will want to find spots in the grass in our folding chairs, maybe a blanket thrown in if it is chilly.

There will be a trivia game again with phenomenal prizes!

National Aviary Tour: Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 11:30 am to 1:00 p.m.

When did you last go to the Aviary? Did you find the sloth? No kidding, he is walking around in there. This is a fantastic environment to meet some of the funniest and most beautiful birds you will see! Some will fly over our heads to get their treats, and some will follow you around. 

To get this $12 deal, we must have over 15 classmates sign up

We must enter together at the entrance on  Archer Street at 11:20! We are not required to stay together once inside - you explore at your leisure. (You are able to leave and return the same day.)

There is a $5 parking lot at the Aviary, free street parking, and it's also located on a city bus route.

The Aviary is all on one floor, and easy in and out with convenient restrooms

Wear light clothing as it is Tropical climate indoors. The gift shop has great gifts for grandkids!

Lunch at Federal Galley: Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

This is a large community food hall and an open feeling that gives you plenty of space

There is a ramp entrance to the back door & steps to the front doors. 

Indoor and Outdoor seating (umbrellas) is available and convenient restrooms 

There's a full service bar as well as 4 unique restaurants serving choices everyone can enjoy.

You will pay for your meal individually: $5-$15 range - "Pay at the Door"

Located a couple of blocks from the National Aviary (if you plan to take that tour first)

Parking in the parking garage or free street parking on Sunday; site is located on the city bus route.
