Melinda (Mindy) Maulucci

I've done a lot during these past ten years and have been very blessed and honored!

I've been a high school and middle school English teacher/mentor and tutor for 6 1/2 years and have been elected/nominated to various boards and committees in the education world and in the non-profit arena.

I currently hold the distinct honor and title of the 2009 Northern Nevada Teacher of the Year

I am President of the Shakespeare Animal Fund which helps provide the unemployed, low income, elderly and students pay for emergency vet bills that they otherwise could not.

I began the only Pet Food Pantry in Reno/Sparks and have put together numerous fundraisers.

Currently, I hold positions on the Washoe Education Association committee for events, as well as, the Nevada State Education Association Elections Committee and am a representative to the National Education Association for the State of Nevada.

During my "down time" =) I travel and have been to 11 different countries and numerous states and cities along the way.

I've had many interesting experiences since high school. The most exciting just occurred this last month when I was named "Northern Nevada Teacher of the Year". It was truly a blessing and honor to be recognized by my current and former students and the state for my hard work and love of my profession!
