Although I left Platteville after second grade, and have wandered the world, it has always felt like home. I am so excited to reconnect with my O.E. Gray pals!

In the summer of 1979 I was back visiting my grandparents in Platteville. David Weigel and I had reconnected and went out on a lunch date to Dubuque for pizza. The date went long and much to my surprise when I returned my evening date was being entertained by my grandfather who got a wicked sense of delight from my predicament. He was a young man from California on a summer internship at John Deere. Despite the awkward beginning, we continued dating. I guess we never stopped because we've been married for almost thirty years. My grandfather never tired of telling the story of the day Marie had two dates.
