The general procedure for embedding 3rd Party Objects is as follows:

    1. At the third party web site generate the code for your object, then select and copy the code.
    2. Return to your Class Creator web site and enter edit mode for the page on which you wish to embed the object.
    3. Click your mouse on the exact location on your page where you wish for the embedded object to appear.
    4. Click the "Source" button to toggle over to source code view (the Source button is located at the upper left corner of your editor).
    5. Paste the code that you previously copied in Step #1.
    6. Click the "Source" button again to toggle back to design view. Note: You will not see the third party embedded object in the Class Creator editor.
    7. Save you page.
    8. Preview your page live. You will now see the embedded object on your page. If you do not, try pressing "reload" or "refresh" on your browser.
NOTE ABOUT THE SIZE OF PLAYLIST.COM PLAYLISTS AND OTHER EMBEDDED OBJECTS: Most embedded objects will fit fine on any sub pages of your web site, however, your home page is divided into two columns and embedded objects that are too large will "blow out" the formatting of your home page and/or cross over other elements on the right side of your page. If you put an embedded object on your home page or Announcement Board do not use objects over 350 pixels wide. If you are embedding PlayList.com Playlists (default width 435) you can easily change the size of your embedded player by following these steps:
  1. After pasting your Playlist.com source code, make sure you identify and change all 4 widths to 350 (various browser versions have different methods of embedding an object on your page, so there are 4 separate instances of the width in the code to accommodate all of them). You can use a number slightly larger than 350 depending on the design you are using if you wish — feel free to experiment. Then save your page.
  2. Your Playlist Player will now fit perfectly on your home page without interfering with the formatting.

How to create Links within the website.

  1. Right click on the custom link on left-side menus (i.e. Contact Use, etc.). Choose "Copy Link Location"
  2. Go to the Edit Site Page. Find the page that you want to link from and click the Edit Button for that page.
  3. In the Page Editor for that page highlight the area that will be the link. Click on the Globe with/ a Link on it at the top of the Page Editor box. A yellow colored box will pop up on the screen. Using "Ctrl + V" paste the link location copied in the 1st step as instructed by the yellow box. Click "OK". The Link area or words will turn blue.
  4. Click "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Go to the site page and check your link by clicking on it.

When a Classmates Profile is "hijacked"

  1. determine who's profile has been hijacked.  This can usually be done by looking at the "Bounceback".

  3. Using the red letters "DELETE" in the "DELETE"  to delete the hijacked page.
  4. Using the "Add New Member" button in the "Enter/Edit Classmate" re-enter the Classmates Information.

How to upload photos to the website

  1. Log into your web site.
  2. Click on "Edit Site Pages" from your Administrative links (the third block of links).
  3. Click the Edit button next to the page you wish to insert photos into.
  4. When your editor pops up, click the little yellow "Image button" near the left hand corner.
  5. Click the browse button, select your image, and press the "Send It To the Server" button.
  6. Press Ok, then press Ok again. You will now see your image in your editor.
  7. Right click (control click on Mac) on your image and then select "Image Button Properties" to set alignment options for your image.
Note: It's ok to upload oversized images to your site, such as large photo scans. Our system will automatically resize your images to fit perfectly on your web page. After inserting your image just press the Save button, and you will see that your photo has been perfectly sized for your page.

How to move and use the same photo on multiple pages.

  1. To use the same image file on multiple pages or locations.
    1. Go to where the photo is currently on the site (Original image).  Right-click the photo and and select "Image Location".
    2. Go to where you want to use the same photo.  Insert the image and in the URL line, paste the image location you copied.  This will share the same image (file), BUT if the Original image (file) is deleted, all the other images will be deleted.

  2. If you want to keep from losing all the other images when the Original is deleted or to move an image.
    1. Go to where the photo is currently on the site (Original image).  Right-click the photo and and select "Save Image As" and copy it to your local hard drive.
    2. Go to where you want to insert the image.  Click on the "Image Button" (yellow button next to "Source" button, upper left side of Editing section).
    3. Click "Browse" button.  Select the image you want from your local hard drive.  Click "Upload" button and wait until the program finishes uploading (this may take a minuet or two, be patience).  When the uploading is complete the screen will change, click "OK".  Your image will appear.  Now if the Original is deleted the other image will not be deleted.

  3. To move the image simply repeat step #2 above (If you want to keep from losing...) except after inserting the image in the new location, delete it from the Original location.

An annoying space that just won't go away.

Answer: The Class Creator system has some built in functions that help you space things correctly. Most of the time these built in functions are beneficial, but every now and then may be preventing you from creating the exact spacing you are desiring. If this is happening to you, click on your "Source" button, and at the top of your source code on its own blank line, paste in this code:

Make sure you paste in the entire code above, complete with opening and closing carrot brackets. When you do this you are telling our system to discontinue helping you with spacing issues, and honor 100% of your html code exactly as you've entered it. If you are having any issues with html and display, try putting the tag above at the top of your source code, and the issue will likely be solved.

Announcements are covering up items on the right hand side.

Answer: The editor component you have on your site is very powerful, giving you access directly to the source code of your site. While this allows you to do some high level editing on your site, it also gives you the power to "mess up" your page. A variety of things can be put in your Announcements box to cause it to be too wide:

  1. Extraneous html code pasted into your Announcement area from Microsoft Word.
  2. Items that are too large to fit, including images, tables, and horizontal rules.
  3. Third party embedded objects that are too wide for your Announcements box (such as large Playlist.com playlists, or Youtube videos).
  4. Holding down the space bar and putting in numerous "non breaking spaces." Numerous non breaking spaces in a row have nowhere to wrap, thus they blow out your Announcements board. To fix this, edit your Announcements and/or home page content and click on the Source button in the upper left corner. Then look for numerous spaces in the code all run together. It will look something like this:

Select and delete all the non breaking spaces, then save your page. Your Announcements box will now return to normal.

How to capture clipart or animation and insert into a page.

  • Find a clipart or animation that you want.  Put your cursor on it and right click.  On the right click pop-up menu click on "Save Image As..." or "Save Picture As...".  This will open up a "Save File".  Locate the File that you want to save the clipart or animation on your computer.  Click the "Save" command.

  • Go to the "Edit Pages" and select the page were you want to place the clipart.  Place your cursor where you want the clipart to be inside the "Editor Box".  Now in the upper section of the "Editor Box" where all of the symbols and editing tools  are and in the upper left corner of this section is a small yellow button (just to the right of the white "Source" button) called the "Image Button".  Click the Image Button and a yellow pain will appear on the screen over the Editor Box.  Use the Browse Button and locate the image/animation that you want to load.  Then click the Upload Button (ONLY ONCE, IT MAY TAKE A FEW SECONDS TO COMPLETE THE UPLOAD BUT DON'T CLICK ANYTHING UNTIL AFTER IT HAS FINISHED UPLOADING AND THE FILE NAME APPEARS IN THE BOX TO THE LEFT OF THE BROWSE BUTTON).  When the upload is finished, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the yellow box and your clipart or animation will appear.  You can use the Justification Tools. space bar or Tab Buttons to position the clipart/animation.  Now go live with that page and check the page for proper placement and for an animation, that it is animated.
