Pik n Pig Restaurant
It's in Carthage, about 45 minutes from Bragg.
For those unfamiliar with the place, it has some of the best barbeque and brisket you'll find around here and you eat next to an active air strip.
Mostly single engine 2-6 seaters, every now and then a twin engine and sometimes Army aviation will stop in for lunch. (Blackhawk, Chinook, etc.)
They have an aviation museum there too, pretty nice (one of the original Flying Tiger Mustangs is onsite).
1 mile down the road and we'll go their, after our luncheon.
I talked to one of the curators at the museum about including some displays about maintainers - they are supposed to be getting a display with "The Forgotten Mechanic" poem.
SUGGESTION: What if we were to take donations for some type of Plaque, Monument, Etc,
Honoring the 317th OMS / 624th / 743rd MXS Pope AFB Enroute Mx Section
and donating it to the Museum ?
