Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for MSgt. Robert Joseph Hudson, USAF Retired, 47 of Collins and formerly of Dover, Delaware, who passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Reverend Dennis Campbell and Reverend Thomas Shields will officiate at the service with military rites at graveside.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Barbara Brister, Mrs. Amy Bishop Duke, and Mr. Wil Ross.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, and from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins

Pallbearers will be Brock Hudson, Jayson Hudson, Chris Hudson, Brad Hudson, Steed Pope, and Mirko Sampson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wil Ross, Ashley Wilson, and Harrell Evans.

Robert was born on August 26, 1974, in Jackson, Mississippi to Bobby Joe Hudson and Gretchen Gross Hudson. He was a graduate from Collins High School Class of 1993.  After high school, Robert joined the United State Air Force and served his country for twenty-two years until his retirement in June of 2015.  He was a member of the Methodist faith. Robert was a loving son, father, and brother, and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.  

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Hudson.

Survivors include his mother, and stepfather, Gretchen and James Coulter of Collins; his former wife, and mother of his daughter, Stacey Donaldson Johnson Hudson of Felton, Delaware; one daughter, Tarryan Lisa Maureen Hudson of Felton, Delaware; one stepdaughter, Cassandra Johnson of Felton, Delaware; two stepsons, Jake Johnson and Scott Johnson, both of Felton, Delaware; one sister, Amy Hudson Evans, and her husband, Robert of Collins; one brother, Todd Hudson, and his wife, Jill of Little Rock, Arkansas; one nephew, Cooper Hudson of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Ochsner Medical Center, 1514 Jefferson Highway, BH-607, New Orleans, Louisiana, 70121, or to the charity of your choice.

To all my fellow Enroute and Pope AFB maintainers, it’s with a very heavy broken heart and permission from his mom and Stacey Donaldson Johnson Hudson, I am here to regretfully inform you all of Rob Hudson’s recent passing on May 1st, 2022. The family, his sister Amy, Stacey, their kids Cassandra Johnson, Scott Johnson , Jacob Johnson, and Tarrynn Hudson would greatly appreciate prayers during this difficult time.
