Worked at Culver's in Belvidere as assistant manager. I know, yuck!!! But it was cool being one of the bosses. I fell in love with Jeff and after six months of dating we got married. Then had a son a year later. Sadly, we lost him. I was tested positive for Group B Strep which passed on to him. If anybody has a question about that just ask. It is a very serious disease that took his life and it could of easily been prevented if we had known. So now I tell all my pregnant friends about it so they can know how to prevent it. It was the biggest challence I ever had to face but it helps to make sure it doesn't happen to anybody else.
What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?
I remember goofing off in class and having fun with my friends. I loved playing sports. My favorite thing to do when I was a freshman was to watch Mr. Black get mad at the whole class because nobody would listen to him. At the time I thought it was funny, but now I feel a little guilty. I remember hanging out with all my friends in the lunchroom. And I remember Mrs. Lang in foods class. She was a fun teacher. I remember Mr. Herren's math class. Javier Nino would always tell him that he was trippin. And I loved having Mr. Herren as a teacher because he would always give us the homework answers, then he'd get mad at us for not doing our homework ourselves. And I loved driving Mr. Herren's Grand Prix and Durango during track practice. It beats running!! And he had an awesome stereo system. Another thing I loved to do was make people laugh and act the fool. I remember when I was on Homecoming Court Martin Kulick's parents rented a mustang convertible for the parade. I accidently threw a piece of candy and it bounced under the car while it was moving. A kid tried to get it and Martin's dad thought he did it and screamed at him. Sorry Martin. And the same day. We drove by Edwards and they gave us free apples. When I saw coach Kaz at the parade she wanted me to throw her some candy. But instead I threw the apple at her and hit her. I was such a beotch!!
Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at North Boone?
I think That I would of tried to get better grades and paid attention in class. I wished that I stood up for myself more. I'd always let the people who didn't like me bother me. I pretended that it didn't bother me but it did.
What was the funniest/most memorable event since high school?
I think just being able to have our first and second house built for us. It was fun to design how we wanted our home. The funniest would be watching my husband get old.
After 10 years, what would most suprise people to hear about your life today?
That I'm a mom and love every day of it. I always hated kids until I had them. I'm happy without having a career. And that I got married 6 months after I graduated since I hardly ever dated anyone in High School. I married a Belvidere Buck instead.
We like to travel at least once a year. Mostly to Las Vegas because my husband lived there for a couple of years. Been to San Fransisco, San Diego, LA, Most of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Florida, Canada, And most of the Mid West (Yippee).
I coach a girls basketball team for my church. I still love to play Volleyball. Sometimes I play on a softball league. I watch my kids play baseball. I like to paint. I like to do crafts. I like to decorate my home. And of course, I like to play with my kids.
Enjoy every second you have on this earth because you never know when your time is up. Don't rush through life especially with your kids because you can never get those years back. Don't ever let a day pass without telling your kids that you love them. Don't miss a second of their lives. Time is too precious to waste. It's just like that movie click. You rush through life then one day you realize that those times are over. Don't become like him and think your life sucks. Make the most of what you have.
Don't expect us to look like we did in High School because it's not going to happen. I wish I was still a size 6. Now I just focus on making my kids look good.
