I live in Wisconsin now. I have a masters and bachelor's degree from University of Illinois, and my teaching certifications in general and choral music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Edgewood college. I visit PC every year as my parents and brother still live there. I usually come around Christmas or Spring Break.
I taught elementary music for 10 years, HS piano and midi tech for 3 years, Grades 1-8 for 1 year, and just finished my 1st year teaching just middle school at one of the roughest middle schools in Madison, WI. Toki MS made national headlines two years ago after 2 fights were posted on You tube. It's was a tough year, but the kids came around and made some great progress over the year.
Life has been good to me since HS. I went straight off to college and got my bachelors degree and master's degree back to back. I taught at a catholic grade school for 1 year, then desperately tried to get back to the east coast, but ended up in Wisconsin at a boarding school for 3 years. I then worked for the state music association for 3 years setting up solo and ensemble for 275,000 Wisconsin students. But I missed working directly with kids and thus went back to school to get my certification to teach in public school. (My initial degrees were in piano pedagogy - to teach at the college level). In 1997 I produced my cd - Within the Garden. It's available on Amazon in case you are interested! It's piano music that I wrote and performed. I married in 1999 and had a daughter in 2001 but got divorced this year.
I live in a suburb of Madison, WI and life is pretty good. I look forward to going to a reunion soon as I missed my 10th!
