My family moved to Duluth, MN in 1986. I graduated from the University of Dayton in 1988 with a degree in Communications.
For 10 years I worked for EMI Music Distribution as a marketing & sales rep. First in Minneapolis & then in San Francisco. Then I became the National Sales Director for Six Degrees Records in San Francisco.
I married Matthew Lewinski in October of 2006 in San Francisco. He is a software engineer for a KACE Networks.
In 2007, we decided to move back to Minneapolis to be closer to family.
I currently write two blogs A Good Appetite and Kat Knits as well as articles for the Handmade MN website. I sell original knitting patterns on the Kat Knits website & have an Etsy shop, The Snuggery, where I sell hand embroidered pillows & other handmade goods. Other than that I'm a volunteer for the Minneapolis Libraries & host food & drink events for a group called Cooking Minnesota.
