Stanton Hightower had been coaching basketball for over 15 years, but his real love of coaching was discovered when he and his wife teamed up together to coach his daughter, and they've been coaching together ever since. Stanton was a Seattle native and Garfield graduate. After serving in and playing basketball for the U.S. Navy, Stanton returned home to play basketball at Pierce Community College. Stanton was a father, brother, husband, uncle, Veteran, and coach. Stanton passed from Hypertensive cardiac disease exacerbated by COVID.
