School Story:
As a current HS psychologist, I often talk to kids about my HS story. I was quite introverted, shy and certainly not with any "in-crowd" until it all came together in Spring of senior year. I grew up a ton in college (Indiana U), and grad school (Toledo and Xavier). Honestly high school was spent trying to get by...most of my food and clothes were bought through part time jobs and poker winnings back then.
That said, I have many positive memories as the school took care of me a lot. Loved Washington Seminar, The Pirate's Eye, and our 9-period day with no windows. I won an award as the most compassionate member of the class and then lost touch with nearly everyone. The compassion continues in my work as a school psychologist, along with projects I participate in working towards racial equity.
